Ben Wilson was told after the 0-0 draw with Portsmouth on Sunday that his one-month loan at AFC Wimbledon would be extended.

The Cardiff keeper, who has played five games since the start of his loan, will now be at Kingsmeadow until January 3 - and is looking forward to competing with the returning James Shea.
“It was great news to hear it had been extended,” said Wilson. “I am looking forward to working with James. He’s a nice lad. The keepers’ group, with Joe McDonnell, is close-knit. James is a big player for us - he was Player of the Season last year. So it will be good competition.
“It is up to me to do well enough to stay number one as long as I am here.
“You can get comfortable without a challenge. Joe has been pushing me - he must have thought he was going to play when James got injured.
“So I have had someone pushing me - and now it will be even harder to keep the spot. I have always had people ahead of me at my previous clubs, so I know how hard that can be.
“David Marshall is on fine form so unless someone comes in with an extremely high offer, it will be hard to play there.

I watched him on Sky the other night and he made some very good saves. We have 2 excellent prospects as back ups and the best goalkeeper in the football league.
