Cardiff City midfielder Joe Ralls commits long term future to Bluebirds

The midfielder, who has been one of the Bluebirds' standout players this season, agreed the deal after lengthy negotiations over the past few weeks.


Cardiff City midfielder Joe Ralls has signed a new contract until 2020.

The midfielder, who has been one of the Bluebirds' standout players this season, agreed the deal after lengthy negotiations over the past few weeks.

Ralls has made 16 appearances for the Bluebirds this season, playing largely on the left side of midfield.

The 22-year-old joined Cardiff aged just 16 and his worked his way through the club's system. He made his first team debut against Oxford United in the League Cup in 2011.

The 22-year-old, who has made 67 appearances for the Sky Bet Championship Bluebirds so far, has penned a contract until the summer of 2020. He told Cardiff City Player HD: "I'm very happy to have put pen to paper on a new contract. "I've been part of things this season quite prominently and I felt that this was where I wanted to stay. Hopefully we can continue to progress this season and on the back of what we've already done, I feel we can be successful. "I've been here for five years already now and I'm looking forward to the future."
