Didn't hear anything in Cardiff Bay/Penarth area so can't have been much of an 'explosion' ? Did anyone else hear it ?

It was heard half a mile away, however it doesn't matter how big the 'explosion' as you put it, the fact of the matter is that there are still two people missing and 5 in hospital

I had my info from a comment from St. John's ambulance centre who reported hearing it half a mile away

Sad day indeed for all those involved, nobody should go to work and not return to their families. I've worked at Celsa and currently work at tata, such incidents like this really hit home.
Thoughts with friends family of all those involved. Let's hope the others get well soon

Two people have been killed following an explosion at a Cardiff steelworks.
The blast happened in the basement of Celsa Steel UK on East Moors Road in Splott at 10:30 GMT on Wednesday.
Four others were injured and taken to the city's University Hospital of Wales while a fifth was treated at the scene.
A spokeswoman for Celsa said thoughts were with the dead workers's families and it was working with the police and Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to find out what happened.
Prime Minister David Cameron tweeted: "My thoughts are with those affected by today's explosion at Celsa plant in Cardiff. We have been in touch to offer any help we can."
Eyewitnesses told BBC News of the moment the explosion happened - with some feeling the blast from half a mile away. Many saw thick black smoke billowing across the site.
Another sad day - R I P .
