THE FA Youth Cup has assumed added significance for Bristol City since their under-18 team was drawn against Severnside rivals Cardiff City at the weekend.
Entering the competition at the third round stage, the Robins will play the Bluebirds beneath the Ashton Gate floodlights on a date still to be confirmed.
It will be new manager Shaun Brooks' first taste of the FA Youth Cup since succeeding Carlos Anton in the summer.
City will be looking to improve upon last season's showing when they were beaten 2-1 by Oxford United in the first round.
The Robins are currently in bullish mood after causing an upset at the weekend, defeating Division Two leaders Watford 2-1 in an FA Youth Development League fixture at London Colney.
Cardiff's Under-18s play in the same division and are just above City in the table.
The third round tie must be staged before Friday, December 18 and ticket details will be released in the near future.

Three top 14 year olds all from St Tylos school in Cardiff have all just been picked up by Bristol City,s academy set up. They were all spotted playing for Cardiff schoolboys. They have a pretty good set up there. All three of these boys are Cardiff fans
