" Is Joe Ralls better than Jordon Mutch? "

Was thinking about the Whitts "problem" this morning and come to the conclusion that unless he has a speed/movement weapons theres little point in playing him in the middle over Ralls whose power and mobility suits Slade 442 better than Whitts possession based game.

Malky used Whitts as the free player in a 5 man midfield, later that season Malky used Mutch in that free position but further up the field.

Mutch is now a premier league player, but i think Ralls at his position is far more effective.

Do any of you agree ?

Mutch has had a hard time getting anywhere near the Premiership standard as an attacking midfielder. I think you could be right in suggesting in a few years time, Ralls could keep his place in a Premiership team playing centre mid

Mutch was one of our better performers in the premier league. And s scored vital goals. He has obviously stagnated at present, but to judge on what we see ralls has a way to go yet

I think the only thing Mutch is better at is running with the ball and of course because of the position we played him his goals. Ralls in a traditional 442 but will get to double figures.

I love Whitts because i want to watch footballers not limited footballer but good athletes, but I think Ralls is the full package a footballer and athlete.

Ralls is a 442 CM, there will always be a demand for those.

For those two they had to fit into the perfect system that didn't rely on them to do much of the heavy yards, Ralls gives you the heavy yards as well end product.

I believe we must get Ralls on a long term contract, it will be money in the bank for Tan. To be able to control a game at 21 shows immense potential far beyond the championship.

Not just yet but I can see Ralls going one better than Mutch over time.

Different players but for me yes due to one thing. Mutch wasn't fit enough and went missing for periods in matches. I like him though direct

Agreed. Ralls has great potential but still has to fulfil it.

Mutch was immense during our promoton season (when he was on the pitch at least!)

Two very different footballers to compare; both equally exciting. Mutch and Medel were easily our best midfielders during our Premiership season and I for one would love Mutch back with us. A CM pairing with Ralls could be wonderful. With Gunnar, Digkacoi and a good winger, Kennedy maybe, we could have one of the best midfield set ups in the Championship.

Mutch was more influencial on the game when on form, but I believe ralls could surpass what mutch done.

No he didn't - Malky always played him in front of the back 4 sat deep.
