" Latest on Guerra "

3rd highest scorer in La Liga one of the best Leagues in the world and before he even came to Cardiff he scored 15 goals in La Liga

Begged for a chance and that's 100% :ayatollah:

And we get rid of him and sign Doyle and Revel

The last few weeks we have been crying out for a goal scorer

And no I won't get over it as he really did want to play and we lost out big time and still are

Correct Paulh, did not want to be here once he knew he was never going to be given a chance, just spoke to his Spanish friends, he really begged for a chance

From the small amount of time we seen him play you could tell the undoubted class of the man.. Terrible loss.. What a player he could have been for us.. Well done Russell :sladeout:

Any direct quotes on that? All i know is Ole was exited about him, and Slade thought he couldnt do a job in the Championship..

although we are speculating, I don't think it was as simple as that. Even if he did want to go back to Spain, he is a footballer and wants to play. Cardiff managers never gave him any confidence whatsoever. One of the biggest signings ever made by the club in terms of his profile was not handled correctly imo.

If he did have a chip on his shoulder as some posters/reports/Slade suggested, I for one can understand that a bit coming from a quality league with great coaches to being managed by football's equivalent of the chuckle brothers

Re: " Latest on Guerra "

Met him a couple of times and seemed a very nice and down to earth guy. He was desperate to be given a chance and could not understand why he was constantly overlooked. His current form just goes to show what a big mistake it was to get rid of him and some of the others that were never given a chance. If we had kept Eikrem who despite only getting a brief look in, looked class on the ball [and is now playing the CL] to supply him, Guerra's goals would have fired us to promotion this season in my opinion. Oh well, never mind Revell and an ageing Whitts it is then...

Re: " Latest on Guerra "

We messed up on the timing......If he came during the new year transfer window we would have seen the real Guerra.

If he had a good 4 months he would have been off to another premier club...

So you're saying it's 100% Russell Slade's fault for not playing him despite Ole also being under orders not to play him? Good one!

He was? All i ever heard/read was he was acclimatizeing Guerra to the championship and praised him. Looking for him develop partnerships. Also said he was an important part of the bluebirds campaign. I don't think not playing much in the first 7 games indicate he is not in the managers plans :? Was injured in August as well... Where did you find he was not going to play under Ole?

This was a really strange signing.

I know 100% straight from a Cardiff city players mouth that he never wanted to come to Cardiff once we were relegated and had to coz of his contract you need to move on Annis on this players come and go

Did he want to be here? god knows probably not after the way he was treated by young and Slade.

The little I seen of him under Ole he looked sharp, bright and a classy player. I didn't go to the cup game but i'm pretty sure he wasn't the only one having a horror show.

Not being able to get on the bench ahead of 3 CB's was shocking from the club.

I'm sorry Annis but Guerra had to go. Too big for his boots and didn't put any effort into training or his little time on the pitch.

Another player not given a fair chance at our club, people here in Spain are shocked we let such a proven Goalscorer leave.

You couldn't make this up, we are struggling to score and Guerra A proven goal scorer is virtually kicked out of the club, unbelieveable

If what Wez is saying is right, then why would he be given a chance?

I wish he was given a chance because the small amounts I saw of him he looked to have a touch of class about him, but before he came there were reports he didn't want to come due to relegation (sure OGS said something along the lines of there's no way he can get out of the contract)

Don't put the effort in you don't get played, simple as that.

The way he was handled in the media by Scott Young was bang out of order though.

Well I've heard quite the opposite and with what I've heard and fact that hes a proven goal scorer in one of the top Leagues in the World, thats enough for me to back him :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Its funny many players are saying similar stories about their time at Cardiff in recent years.
