QPR MANAGER UPDATE

QPR owners Ruben Gnanalingam and Tony Fernandes, Director of Football Les Ferdinand and CEO Lee Hoos are all meeting in Malaysia tomorrow to discuss the manager vacancy at Loftus Road, according to Sky sources.

Chris Ramsey was sacked last week with the club 13th in the Championship.

GARRY MONK UPDATE

A source at Swansea has told Sky Sports they are not a sacking club and they would be very surprised if Garry Monk was to be dismissed now.

They added that the atmosphere in the dressing room seems calm despite the results and said Monk has not lost the Swansea dressing room, although there is concern over results.

Swansea sit 14th in the Premier League with 13 points from 12 games, and have won just once since late August.

LVG EYEING WINGERS?

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal admits he needs more pacey wingers at the club. Ahead of the January transfer window, the Dutchman has pinpointed the wide areas as needing improvement, and says Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata are “not the speediest in the world”.

"I have said already in my first year many times we need speed and creativity on the wings,' the Dutchman said.

"You have seen that now we play with Jesse Lingard and he is not the most speedy winger in the world and (Juan) Mata is also not the most speedy winger in the world. So first we must first address that problem."

FULHAM MANAGER SEARCH UPDATE

Sky sources understand Fulham are hoping to get a new manager in place for the MK Dons clash after the international break, and Alan Curbishley will be responsible for running the first team training.

At the moment they are not planning to put in a caretaker in place, and we're being told no negotiations have taken place with a preferred candidate yet.

SOURCES: TONEY IN BARNSLEY LOAN

Newcastle forward Ivan Toney is set to join Barnsley on a 28-day emergency loan, according to Sky sources.

The 19-year-old joined Newcastle from Northampton Town in the summer but has made just three substitute appearances for the club so far.

BAMFORD HAS ESCAPE CLAUSE

Patrick Bamford has revealed he has a clause in his loan deal at Crystal Palace meaning he can leave after six months.

The 22-year-old, currently on loan from Chelsea, has had just 49 minutes of football this season, and was again an unused sub during the win at Liverpool on Sunday.

"I put in a six-month break clause in case things didn't work out," Bamford told The Sun. "That would be if the worst came to the worst because at the minute I'm there or thereabouts."

WEST LONDON PAIR ‘WANT PEARSON’

Fulham and QPR both want Nigel Pearson as their new manager after sacking Kit Symons and Chris Ramsey, according to the Daily Mirror.

Pearson, let go by Leicester in the summer after guiding them to Premier League survival, is reportedly alongside ex-Villa boss Paul Lambert on Fulham’s wish list.

Symons has left Fulham eight points off the play-off spots with just 16 games gone.

FULHAM EYE TRIO

Sky sources understand Fulham are hopeful of speaking to Paul Lambert, Uwe Rosler and Nigel Pearson regarding the vacant manager's position at the club.

Kit Symons was sacked as manager after Saturday's 5-2 defeat by Birmingham in the Championship, leaving them 12th.

TONEY JOINS TYKES ON LOAN

Confirmation of a line we brought you earlier today: Newcastle United striker Ivan Toney has joined League One side Barnsley on a 28-day youth loan.

The 19-year-old arrived at St. James' Park from Northampton Town in August and heads to Oakwell as he continues his development.

Toney made his first team debut for the Magpies as a substitute against his former club in the Capital One Cup in August before making his first Premier League appearance against Chelsea in September.

BRENTFORD MANAGER UPDATE

Plenty of clubs looking for managers at the moment and despite Lee Carsley being in place at Brentford, they are seeking out a permanent boss.

Sky sources are telling us that Gillingham manager Justin Edinburgh and Walsall’s Dean Smith are under firm consideration. We’re also told they’re considering a British-based foreign manager.
