Russell Slade says the upcoming international break is a frustrating disruption for Cardiff City and he'll spend the next 10 days worrying about Kenwyne Jones.

Slade was speaking after the Bluebirds’ 2-0 victory over Reading, a success that saw them end a lengthy goal drought and a three-match winless run.
It was Jones, starting for the first time since returning from international duty with a shin injury last month, who opened the scoring against The Royals with a strong header just before half-time.
And Slade admits he would prefer the Trinidad and Tobago international to stay at home as the striker prepares for two important World Cup qualifiers against Guatemala and the USA.
“If I was being selfish, I’d rather him not go,” Slade revealed.
“But, of course, he’s fit again now so I suspect that process will follow through and he’ll be away now for the next 10-12 days.”
" Lack of communication "
Most agonising for Slade is the apparent lack of communication between the club and the respective countries.
He said: “It’s a concern with all of your international players really - particularly the ones who you don’t get the feedback on in terms of where they’re at, what training they’re doing, and what injuries they have picked up.
“We don’t always know how they picked up injuries and what treatment has started because those first few days when you’ve picked up an injury are absolutely massive.
“If you get the treatment right, it can save you one or two weeks in terms of that process of getting them fit again.
“The communication is sometimes very poor and very weak. We find that frustrating as a football club- the information is sometimes slow to come through so that needs to improve.”
" INJURIES "
While Slade admits that it will be good for Jones to gain some more game time, he remains very concerned about the possibility of losing the former Sunderland and Stoke attacker for another substantial period of time.
“Last time, Bruno Manga and Ken went away and both picked up injuries,” the 55-year-old added.
“This is Kenwyne’s first start and it’s like we’ve got him fit again for the international. I know I’m being a bit cynical but it’s frustrating.
“Obviously, we know injuries happen in games and even in training. But we just want to be notified, be told exactly what it is and then to get these players back and under our control as quickly as possible.
“They’re our players. That’s the frustrating thing- we’re paying the salaries for the players.”

It cost him a month without him and nearly his job

If you're a star player, you shouldn't be allowed to play for your country after injury unless your name is bale or Ramsey.

cant very well say that then hope that Bale and ramsey are available for wales all the time.
Just have to suck it up and hope he doesnt get injured. Hopefully he gets some game time which he needs and gets a couple of goals .

Being as these players are so crucial and valuable and Slade rates this communication aspect so highly, could the club not see fit to send one of our own physios or coaches with him, to report back or even take part in his training out there. Surely worth the expense of a few thousand pound

If it avoids an injury that puts him out for weeks
