Peltier tackle on Vydra

Sun Nov 08, 2015 11:59 am

Totally legal from where I was sitting. The way he hit the deck and seemed to stay on his haunches for a few seconds. Brilliant tackle and we saw Vydra no more as he was constantly looking over his shoulder before being subbed. Peltiers performance in dealing with him and the other players he was up against was one of the highlights of the game for me.

Peltier is turning into one of my favourite players....A defender first, who lets them know he is there.

Have to agree with you mate. 'Solid' is what we tend to say about him in most games. You got the impression he loved the idea of the soaked pitch to enhance the power of his sliding tacked.

I love peltier takes no prisoners but many want a full back who can go past people and defend, we are in the championship. Brilliant tackle

Fully committed and always first there if there's a 'scuffle'

If you noticed when he and Andrew Taylor were battling on the floor. Taylor was quick to apologise lol

Peltier is a great defensive full back, he closes his man out, closes space, forces people wide, tackles hard and chases back. He's also excellent in the air and usually heads it to one of our team unlike Morrison who has no idea where the ball is going when he heads it.

His basic passing is ok too, nothing fancy but he usually finds one of our players. Maybe he doesn't push forward often enough but he does do his bit, in reality the 'creative' players in front of him should be doing more.

I'd take Peltier over a lot of others that have played there - KTC is a good example, loved to get forward but often made mistakes when defending that dost goals. Connolly - great in the middle. lost as a full back. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

A few games back Peltier was tackled with a cheap shot from behind. He went down hard but there was no pleading with the ref for foul play he just got up got on with the game .when the time was right shortly after he totally and fairly wiped the guy out .Tough cool cookie who would be my first name on team sheet .Great pro

A lot of sense spoke in this thread. I instantly took to Peltier because of his attitude. You can hear him screaming on the pitch organising us, he's a natural leader with the correct character and attitude. If we had 11 Peltier's on the pitch, no opponent would ever get the better of us.

He was captain at both Leeds and Huddersfield I think so definitely a leader.

Pelts has been Slade' s best signing by far. Why was he booked for time wasting on the throw in? After the ball hit the ref in the face when he did a great tackle on Vydra, the ref seemed to have it in for him. If only all our players had his attitude.
