RALLS AND GUNNARSON

This is a cracking pairing imo for centre midfield. Gunnarson getting sharper and fitter each game now.
Both provide much needed energy in midfield, both can go box to box,
Ralls provides that quality and creativity going forward where as gunnarson works hard defensively and can be that warrior putting tackles in also.

With this partership in midfield we will be right up there challenging with our wing options and with jones saadi macheda fit.

Problem is slade will probably f**k all that up and put whittingham back in the side and we will end up mid table.

As a two man pairing they are probably going to be effective. They are the most mobile of the five midfielders we have, both got a fair amount of grit too. They need the wingers and lots of movement from the front two, probably still with a forwar dropping back into midfield at times to cover.

Pilks still offers very little for me, Gunnar and Ralls have earned the right in the next game but I'd still look at putting Whitts on the wing if he's hell bent on never playing Kennedy.

The way our fans talk about Whitts is utterly classless. Very disappointing.

I would include Whitts, Gunnarson and Ralls - but would not include Macheda in a month of Sundays - too lazy to get out of his own way.

With you 100% but for away games I would also include Dicgakoi with he and Gunnarsson just behind the Defence and Ralls further forward centrally. We have a number of good wingers to pick from including Pilkington Noone and Kennedy but Kennedy would be my choice. Unless there were injuries/suspensions this should be our midfield mix.

Dikgachoi and Ralls would be better IMO, although Gunnarson played well yesterday and should stay there for now

Ralls willingness to carry the ball forward is of a different philosophy than Whitts possession based game, I would love to know how many passess there were between the middle two against Whitts and Digachoi. Whitts plays into Gunnars weakness which is technical ability as he wants to pass it. Gunnar got away with two hacks yesterday that a better team may have exploited.

We won yesterday because of Marshall !!!! Two set plays although quality delivery from Joe.

Ralls has matured onto another level and we need tie him into a very long contract and build our philosophy around his strengths, so if we need to sacrifice Whitts then so be it.

Is it just me who thinks Dikaghoi is decent enough when it comes to mobility? Add Ralls next to him instead of Whitts.

Being brutally honest Slade's lopsided 4-4-2 meant we sacrificed the left-wing outlet to compensate for Whittingham's weakness in midfield. If you have to carry a player like that then he becomes a burden and it has to have a detrimental affect on the side.

Gunner and Ralls don't need help from wide players and we can therefore allow Noone and Pilkington to do their job and provide assists for the forward players to score.

Another thing both goals came from set-pieces and Joe Ralls deliveries were spot on. Whits has lived off his reputation at set pieces for quite an extended period now and honestly it not there anymore.

Spot on there pal. Like you say with ralls playing out wide he just tucks in and gives us the energy in midield when he should be in centre anyway, and ralls not being a natural winger he dosent have that creativity and forward wing play as our natural wingers do so we are better side with ralls in middle and our wingers out wide creating. We cant have whitts in the middle next to ralls because we need a player who can tackle and battle and i choose gunnarson over dikgachoi because he is more mobile.

When you look at the attributes needed from a 442 centre midfielder ralls and gunnarson are best suited i just hope slade keeps this pairing and i will be very positive if he does to be honest.
