Like a crèche under the family stand for the whole of the second half with about 40 kids playing tag under the stand

We know - we were there! Increase mostly down to the away fans and a few more from the freebie tickets given to the under 16's. Crowd still dismal due to the standard of football served up ( albeit today's fayre was slightly better due to having one of the best keepers in the UK ).

get better crowd and as usual people find the negative aspects of it? Bradford have 15k or whatever it is in ST sales why...? Because of ultra low prices or it be 5k probably! What's the difference with our sceme, its done to increase crowds as well .

haaaa. No, Malky's football was the same + some luck.
The standard of attacking football has been dross here for a few years now. People seem to miss the fact that Slade has shored up the defence and we're hardly taking any goals in, which has to be the first step and now we saw some great pieces of attacking play on saturday. more than it's been for a while. a bit less of the hoofball and more intricate passing and runs (especially from Noone and Gunnarson).
If we see it improve and turn into more of what we saw at times on Saturday, I'd be a happy bunny

Most attendances have been around the 13-14K mark, the increase against Reading was presumably the freebies handed out.
If you take out the Season Ticket holders who are not attending when the attendance is shown as 13,500 we probably only have a crowd of 10-12K in the stadium. ( Crowds are down over 32% since last season).
Considering that we are in the top 10 that is frightening really. I think that many fans do not want to see the boring negative football being dished up under Slade. No prolific goal scorer, no pace and an 8 man defence are features which does not help.
Even during the second half of last season the crowds started to plummet when the football was dire to watch. Unfortunately nothing has changed to bring the missing fans back. It's ok for Slade to say that we are only 3 points off the play off. It's not only results fans want. They pay good money so want to be entertained with decent attacking football.
A combination of good attacking football & results will being the crowds back which will also improve the atmosphere. I think under Slade we will not see attacking football and he seems content with negative team selections and relying on nicking a set piece goal to scrape a win. The team seem more happy in defending and securing a point rather than pushing forward in search of 3 points.
