A forum for all things Cardiff City

This isn't so much a dig as mentioned by Annis regularly I don't go anymore so I am firmly looking from the outside. However I have seen it said that one of the problems with Tan is that he treats Cardiff supporters as customers rather than fans.
Looking from the outside I would suggest that our supporters act like customers rather than fans. Fans don't get on the players' backs they support them. I see very little support on here they are desperate for Slade to fail to stick it to Tan. The last few weeks have proven this. I started watching when we were in the dungeon. Then we backed the team no matter what. I had admiration for the manager, the players, Sam Hamamm. I felt they could do nothing wrong. I travelled miles to support them and loved it. There was no bigger buzz than them coming onto that pitch at 3pm. The times I have been this season it's not like that. The fans are on their backs if they pass backwards. It must get onto the players and effect their performance. I couldn't play in that atmosphere.
Just my opinion I am open to be proven wrong. I am sure people will mention the stewards harassment of supporters but isn't there a singing and standing section that was a compromise from the club?
The definition of fan is
a person who has a strong interest in or admiration for a particular person or thing.
That's not us, not anymore and hasn't been for a while.

Treated like customers so fans will act like a customer I don't blame them either as that's modern soulless football sadly. Like you said years ago it was different in every way now it's a gash matchday experience because times have changed so has the so called customer from there attitude to thinking.

My point is that's not Tan's doing. Started under Sam and was especially apparent under Riddler.

I do give a shit that's not my point. It's perception. It's not been the same since the CCS. Same fans from Ninian just in s different place.

nostalgia
noun
a wistful desire to return in thought or in fact to a former time in one's life, to one's home or homeland, or to one's family and friends; a sentimental yearning for the happiness of a former place or time:
a nostalgia for his college days.
The grass was greener
The light was brighter
The taste was sweeter
The nights of wonder
With friends surrounded
The dawn mist glowing
The water flowing
The endless river
I agree that Tan is getting his fingers burnt, but lets not kid ourselves football was changing during this "wonder" period of kinship and togetherness, the move to CSS and a shed load of banning orders changed us to a normal club.

Agree.
The divisions in fans started with Sam. Those he took on the bus those he didn't one example. Those in the loop those not.

Me and my family are "fans", those that choose to act like customers are customers, they can come and go as they please.
For the past 6 years we have not missed a home game and been too many away as well.
When unable to travel we listen to the radio watch TV to keep tracks on how OUR team is doing.
Like Hamman, Tan will one day be gone - but we will still be here, Fans, supporting the "Bluebirds!

You seemed to have missed the more extreme parts of the "fan" description.
Fan is short for fanatic and can be described as a person filled with excessive and single-minded zeal. A description that can be given to many of our number who cannot stabilise how important football SHOULD be to them.
When your football overtakes more important things like work and family, when you find yourself spending more time with like minded fans, taking football based trips WITHOUT your family, then you are a fanatic.
Fanatics are NOT what football clubs want, they want customers, they thrive to provide a day out for whole families that will spend money at the ground. The problem with this is if the entertainment is poor the customers go elsewhere. Which is what we are seeing
Fanatics may be the life-blood of a club but the clubs do not cater for them they want customers to boost the numbers and money. They don't need to worry about the fanatics, the hardcore 6k - 10k will always be there blindly following.

Basically fans are taken for granted.
However there is a line where you don't cross and that is what Tan did hence the return to blue.
