Royals facing mystery injury crisis ahead of trip to South Wales

7 Key Reading players could be missing tomorrow :ayatollah:

If you thought Cardiff City had injury problems, you haven't seen what's going on down the M4 at Reading. As Steve Clarke brings his team to South Wales, he could be missing seven key players.

Reading manager Steve Clarke has problems as his team heads to Cardiff

Reading face coming to Cardiff City with an injury ravaged squad, but boss Steve Clarke is refusing to reveal who his missing for tomorrow's clash.

As many as seven key players could be missing from Steve Clarke's squad as four injury doubts have been added to the three definites, Hal Robson-Kanu , Stephen Quinn and Aaron Tshibiola.

But while the former West Brom boss admitted he had worries over four more players, he refused to reveal their identity, just to keep Cardiff guessing.

The Bluebirds have their own injury crisis and will be missing Fabio, Kagisho Dikgacoi and Peter Whittingham, on top of long-term absentees Bruno Manga. Federico Macheda and Ben Turner.

But Clarke told Get Reading : “I’ve got quite a few in the treatment room.

“I trust my medical staff, they are going to work hard to try and get the squad as healthy as possible.

“I’m not going to give too many names out because I have got a significant number of players who have knocks, it’s normal at this stage of the season.

“On top of the long-term injuries that everyone knows about we’ve got four other quite significant injuries to other players.”

Former Bluebirds Andrew Taylor and Chris Gunter are expected to line-up at full backs amid calls for more defensive cover to be brought to the Madejski Stadium in January.

But Clarke is happy with his team, who currently sit 7th in the table, two places and two points above Cardiff.

He said: "We’ve only had three league defeats all season.

“That tells me they are quite a good group of players.

“They want to get the right result. They have determination not to lose games."

We have played some very poor sides recently and couldn't score or beat them.

To say Reading may have 7 players out will work against us with players being hungry coming in.

What with our formation, tactics and total lack of looking like scoring I can only see defeat against a good Reading side :sladeout:

Sorry but the players appear to have lost faith with RS :sladeout:

I have lost faith with RS :sladeout:

If they didnt have a keeper playing and we managed to get a shot on target then it would be 'Great News'

They won't need a goalkeeper tomorrow. If I was Steve Clarke, I would consider using a rush goalie setup.

WTF - I just bought a child ticket in the grandstand for £17

Taylor and Gunter as their full backs?

One of whom will receive a good reception and the other of whom won't.

I think if Reading fielded a complete reserve side, they would still have to much for Slade's City

We've had 7-8 players out for weeks.

Manga, Fabio, Turner, Dikgachoi, Macheda, Jones, Saadi, Ralls, now Whittingham, off the top of my head.

Not that anyone wants to admit it as they might have to admit that the manager hasn't actually done that bad under the circumstances.
