Thursday 5th Nov 2015
The Welsh club currently sit ninth in the league, only two points off the play-off positions. Reaching the play-offs is definitely a realistic aim for the Bluebirds, who finished 11th last season.
Russell Slade was ruthless in the summer, with nine players leaving Cardiff on a permanent basis, and six players coming in for his side.
Slade, who has been the Cardiff boss for over a year now, will probably be looking for more players to depart the club in January.
This would free up much needed funds for City to bring in players to the club either on loan or permanently.
The business that the former Leyton Orient boss does in the January transfer window could be the difference between Cardiff reaching the play-offs, and another mid-table finish.
Here’s FIVE players that Cardiff should consider moving to a different club in January.Gabriel Tamas
Federico Macheda
Macheda promised so much when he scored a winner for Manchester United on his debut in 2009, but the Italian striker has failed to live up to expectations.
Macheda has a modest goal return of six goals in 21 Cardiff league games, which is disappointing for someone who possesses his quality.
The most likely move for him in January would be a return to his homeland of Italy, probably on a permanent deal.
Gabriel Tamas
Tamas will struggle to get into a settled Cardiff defence that have only conceded 11 goals in 14 games this season, so it may be best for him to move on.
Since his move on a free transfer, the Romanian international has failed to make a single appearance for the Bluebirds.
It is thought that when defender Ben Turner is fully fit again, Tamas will be even further down the pecking order.
Kadeem Harris
22 year-old Harris should definitely consider a loan move away from Cardiff in January, as it is clear he is not currently in Russell Slade’s plans.
Harris is at an age now when he needs regular first team football, which the Bluebirds are unable to offer him right now.
The winger would be a good signing for most League One sides, with his pace and good dribbling ability.
Simon Moore
It is going to be a struggle for Moore to get into the Cardiff side with David Marshall in such sparkling form.
Therefore, the 25-year-old should look to get more first team opportunities elsewhere.
The former Brentford man would be a very solid first choice goalkeeper for pretty much every side in League One, and at only 25, he could definitely improve
Declan John
John should seek a loan move away from Russell Slade’s side, as it is clear that Fabio and Scott Malone are preferred options at left back for the Bluebirds.
The 20-year-old could even use a loan spell as an opportunity to show Wales boss Chris Coleman what he can do, and try to force his way into the Wales squad for the Euro’s in 2016.
Cardiff should definitely keep the talented defender on their books, but a loan spell may be the best thing for his development
