" Slade Agrees to Extend Loan Agreements/I Disagree "

Thu Nov 05, 2015 11:08 am

My Opinion Tommy O'Sullivan should be recalled with all our injuries and our coaches, plus Newports management think he is outstanding and deserves a chance, but Slade thinks he spends to much time on the ball.
Just voted Welsh Young player of the year in Wales.
I've seen and heard nothing but praise for the lad :ayatollah:

And Slade has allowed him cup tied O'Sullivan

I would prefer to have O'Sullivan on the bench than O'Keefe :ayatollah:

Cardiff City youngsters Tommy O’Sullivan and Jazzi Barnum-Bobb have extended their loan spells at Newport County until January.

Both O’Sullivan and Barnum-Bobb joined the Exiles on one-month loan deals in October and have started all four games since then, including County’s 4-1 victory in the Severnside derby against Bristol Rovers, where 20-year-old O’Sullivan grabbed his first league goal.

The extension will see the two Bluebirds players eligible to play for County in their FA Cup tie at Brackley Town this Sunday and will go through until County’s League Two clash with Hartlepool at Rodney Parade on January 2.

absolutely the correct decision. They are starting every game in a side that are picking up slowly.

He wouldnt currently get in the side so should stay where he is.

I think it could be the making of them ,look how ralls has progress loaning youngsters out is Part of their development

O'Sullivan spends too much time on the ball?, It's not like we are playing fast counter attacking football is it?

Paulh it's about opinions and I am only on about Tommy, we have plenty of injuries and we are not doing so well at the moment are we.
I have been hearing great reviews about him and at some stage deserves a chance on the bench for us :ayatollah:

I agree that he needs game time, but why can't this be with us?

Why should O'Sullivan not get into our side for a try out. He can't be any worse than Revell and TBH Mason is hardly championship standard either. I think we should give the lad a go here with us.

have plenty of players ahead of him in the position he plays. its better for him that hes getting game time to be honest. Perhaps when he comes back he can work his way into the side.

From FB

Lauren Should give the youngsters a crack at first team football... can't be any worse!

I wouldnt want to put Tommy in yet certainly as we are poor at the moment and the supporters are getting angry
so to put a youngster in now could ruin the kid if he makes a mistake or had a bad game.

Hopefully he will get a chance with us but not now we need to change things and get results.

Malky stuck Declan John in when he shouldnt have and look now a lot of confidence taking away have to protect young
kids there are not many Roonys about

This is cardiff city not crewe !!!

By 5:50 on Saturday they will be an ugly atmoshere, let the kids miss this.

Is Tommy better than Gunnar or even O'Keefe ????????

Are you really going to replace a million pound a year player with a U21 in our situation ?

I think we should be using this current period of consolidation to blood some youngsters. We were in a similar spell when we started to give the likes of Joe Ledley, Chris Gunter, Adam Matthews, and Aaron Ramsey a go. I would have had Declan John, Tommy O'Sullivan, and Rhys Healey all involved this season. I know not everyone agrees and there is an argument for them going out on loan but I think they'd improve quicker at this level getting game time.

I agree with Slade on this, its great to see them getting game time and doing well. I don't see either pushing into the team at the moment even with injuries so to bring them back to sit on the bench would be a shame.

Being on Bench is that good for him knowing slades use of sub's! Think better off getting a good season in a 1st team, confidence is good for any youngster hopefully come back next season ready for the championship

Personally I think that we can either play Ralls OR O'Sullivan... Playing them both would leave far too much gaps for the opposition to exploit in my opinion!

I thought he was a midfielder. But your right in terms of the players were putting out I think gunnerson for one looked good in malkys solid hardworking unit but since then he's been awful.

Good decision for me, unless he's going to start for us I think it's better for him to be plying regularly, especially if he's cup tied.

Give Newport him for the rest of the season with a recall option and then ease him in next season under a manager who wants to attack and score goals

He's a central midfielder isn't he? Wouldn't you prefer to see Ralls be given his chance in the middle rather than wide?

Great having youngsters playing but have to be careful not to throw them in too soon
