Just about had enough.

Really starting to get fed up now. The football being played by the team in uninspiring and hard to watch and I get annoyed at that as much as the next man. For the record, I am in a minority of Slade In supporters. Not that I think we are fantastic under him but it is the fact that managerial stability is at the forefront of any football club's needs.

We have had Slade about a year now and, if I'm honest, I was expecting a mid-table finish immediately post-relegation. Did Russell Provide that? Yes he did. Has our position in the league thus far been consistent as well as decent? Yes it has. I don't like negative football, no, and I am constantly reiterating that I would rather lose 1-0 having gone out and given it some welly that draw 0-0 and putting in no effort.

I may sound contradictory but Slade needs the rest of the season. I think it is abundantly clear we wont get relegated this season (and quite frankly anyone who says otherwise is deluded). At the beginning of last season most fans that I spoke to talked about how they expect a few years of building before another solid promotion push. Slade is building and I think that a lot of our estranged supporters are waiting for the next defeat or negative game just to promote their Slade out antics. We are but a small good run away from the play-off places and if we were there, the number of managerial moans would drastically decrease. I travel to all of the games so therefore, yes, I have seen what it is like recently and, unlike some others, haven't given up on the club based some managerial idiosyncrasies and negative performances.

Every team in every season will go on a poor or baron run, almost without exception. We cannot expect otherwise. Surely every fan would rather that happen now than in March or April? The beginning of the season bought a few good results and I think the win against wolves highlighted the capabilities in this team. He doesn't seem to get much credit when we win but Slade gets slated with every poor performance.

I think the fans need to unify and they need to do so fast, there are a minority of people wanting to sing on a game day and these numbers need to grow. You find people moaning about the lower attendances and the lack of atmosphere but, ultimately, it is those people that can go some way to improving those features. I go down on a Saturday and the desolate stadium is full of fans that nearly unanimously just can't be bothered. The passion we want the players to show for the club must be reciprocated. From the players' point of view, what incentive is there to work hard in front of a crowd that are just waiting for their next mistake.

The players are not exempt from blame either. Morrison has ,made a number of mistakes and Revell really needs to revise his knowledge of the offside rule. As much as I have been quite defensive in this thread, I do wonder how the players can get paid the amounts they do, play poorly and have the disrespect to, besides connolly and gunnarsson, not come over and clap the fans who have spent over £100 in the past three days to watch them play. Slade barely looked up whilst heading down the tunnel last night.

Stability and unity is key as a club and, as aforementioned, the passion between the staff and the fans needs to come from both angles and not just one or two people amongst a sea of negativity about the football.

To finish, I just want to say that I am looking forward to the rest of the season and roll on saturday :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

fair play to you.

But when we have the supposed "best keeper in the championship" as well as a clutch of players earning easily over 20k each and one of the biggest wage bills in the division then i think we shouldnt be settling for mid table at all

Decent enough post that, puts my positive outlook to things to shame and you do have a lot of valid points both on and off the pitch. Yes sides go on bad runs, and without the very few injuries this wouldn't have happened. I have never been in the Slade out gang, more the Slade steadied the ship and should have been thanked and moved on in the summer.

He bored me senseless with the football last year and that's saying something being a city fan, some of the games were dire at best yet this season we seemed to have a different style despite limited chances being created, it's not the results that's infuriating fans it's the zero risk god awful boring football. We have seen glimpses, in fact our performance against Hull was our best for years and rightly we were applauded off.

I don't see Slade changing much which will ultimately cogs him his job, he will leave a decent group who are together and a decent defence. He's not left us in a mess, time for a change :sladeout:
