Was it a misjudgment by Marshall?

Wed Nov 04, 2015 4:01 pm

Am I the only one thinking that we witnessed a rare mistake by Marshall last night? Even if it was a great strike, it was from some distance - shouldn't he be making some effort to get to it? Is he thinking it's missing the target, or is he just slow to respond?

You could tell he was disappointed with himself by the way he reacted.

I agree. What's just as disappointing was the lack of urgency from the rest of the team following the goal to try and get one back. There is definitely an over-reliance on Marshall. But what does that achieve? The hope that we get a 0-0?

Don't think Marshall can be blamed at all. He would have needed 6 foot long arms to get anywhere near that shot!

I think he was also a little bit unsighted and also, having watched the load of bollocks both teams had produced up to that point, he probably didn't think that a rare piece of quality like that shot would ever have happened!

What about that woeful effort to equalise from Joe Mason ...... any average striker would have buried that chance
He is way out of his depth at this level

Looks like he thought it was going wide. Cant blame Marshall weve gained most points due to him the last few seasons.

Perhaps Marshy wasn't expecting Revell to butcher a rare attack or Gunnar to have control of the ball then only to lose like only gunnar can do before their player having a crack from 25 yards.

Could the defence have closed him down quicker?

If the highlights were symptomatic of the rest of the performance then it was truly SHOCKING.
Whitts backing off ... SHOCKING
Mason's effort ...SHOCKING
Defender losing the ball ...SHOCKING
In short ... SHOCKING
