" SLADE WILL BECOME CARDIFF CITYS SACRIFICIAL LAMB

Wed Nov 04, 2015 2:50 pm

Sooner or later, Russell Slade will become Cardiff City’s sacrificial lamb. That’s the way football works.

By Scott Johnson

4th Nov 2015

When things go wrong or stagnate, the manager takes the hit, even if the powers-that-be or players are at least equally responsible Sometimes it’s a slow death, whereas on occasion a rapid chain of events necessitate a swift execution.

The Cardiff natives are getting restless , what natives there are left. That may seem a bit rash after only one defeat in seven games but that is only half the story.

The team have stopped scoring , which is bad enough, but they don’t even look like scoring, either. They look resolute in defence, which is no mean feat, but the reality is that Cardiff are drifting, as a team and a club.

David Marshall has saved Cardiff a few times in recent weeks

Slade has the feel of a permanent interim manager. He hasn’t been afforded a comparable budget to his predecessors and has spent most of his year in charge fighting fires.

He was seen to be promoted above his station when he joined from Leyton Orient and Vincent Tan appeared to be his only supporter from day one.

Tan is now an absent owner and his silence is deafening. When he has leapt to the defence of Slade, who was his choice, it has only made matters worse, claiming that he hoped Slade would outlast Arsene Wenger, being a case in point.

Rydogsccfc - your change of heart and posts over the last 24 hours are the only thing to put a smile on my face in respect of this sorry situation. I also like your hastily changed avatar and "never trust a bald manager" sign off. Good on you. :sladeout: :sladeout: :sladeout:

I was all for backing Slade however he has to walk, how can he say we're playing well when we can't get a shot on target, i'm telling you the 0ver 75's all priest football match in Father Ted is a more entertaining spectacle than any game we're involved in.

I don't get this "Slade has done a good job under the circumstances" backing that he gets from some quarters.

They are difficult circumstances for sure, I wouldn't want to manage under Tan, we all know the restrictions Slade is under, and there have been injuries.

However the football is the worst most predictable boring goalless drivel I have seen us serve up in my 20 years of watching City.

A combination of Tans dictatorship, Slades failure to connect his persona with the fanbase, his ignorance of youth and this awful anti attacking flair football is the reason for the shocking drop in attendance and atmosphere.

HE HAS TO GO

I Love how the Wales national team is euphoric, together and strong, we need some of that as we are the complete opposite. It really hurts. So Trollope or Bellamy or both for me, Trollope to dip into that Wales camp mentality and possibly tempt a few players over and Bellamy to solve our attacking, youth and PR travesties.

BUT IT WONT HAPPEN WILL IT VINCENT?? NOTHING IS HAPPENING

Mutton dressed as lamb more like it. His brand of football is outdated and certainly not easy on the eye. To continue the sheep analogy: He's for the chop!

IMO he stays until May

Nooney, Gunnar, Morrison, Turner, Pilkington, Fabio, Whitts, Jones, Macheda, Dikachoi all get paid more than their market value so any manager has to get those under achievers into a team. The only way is to get half of these out the club so we can get newbies in, but he has to wait until a few contracts run out or in their final year so they start looking for their next contract.

I think Tan has wrote this season off, no point in getting anyone else in yet. Malky won the league a season after having 8 players

I would agree with that although it would be prudent for our Chairman to call the manager into his office and basically give him a massive dressing down and inform him his end product is simply not good enough considering what he has at his disposal.
