The day after the night before..

Wed Nov 04, 2015 8:55 am

After the hangover of last nights shocking effort by Cardiff City how do city fans feel this morning after things have calmed down?
I personally feel the same, I've had enough. In fairness to Slade he was brought in to do a job on the cheap which he has achieved but I'm afraid it stops there as far as the progression is concerned as I feel he cannot take us any further, he is incompetent, clueless, one dimensional, has no plan B and doesn't know how to change things.
My take on this is he should do the moral thing and resign for his own sake and for the sake of the club and us hurting fans.
:sladeout: is how I see things to progress before it's too late.

Opinions please!!

I really don't know.

Stability is important and we know we'd get the good result every now and then under slade.

Before the season I would have been happy with a mid table finish. Its a differet story when you have to watch the rubbish we've had to though. I don't go away so god knows how bad it must have been.

It is always better to let things settle down after a poor performance or bad result because it gives you time to reflect and take emotion out of things.

So taking emotion out of the situation the harsh reality for RS is that 1 year after being appointed manager we are on the same number of points, 22, after 15 games as we were last season. So year on year "Where is the progression?" After 15 games we have conceded fewer goals than last season, but also we have scored fewer goals and we have ended up pretty much in the same situation as a year ago when let's face it we were a mess.

In fairness to Slade he was told to reduce the wage bill, and he has, but he was also told he would be supported in the summer transfer window, and he wasn't, so in my opinion it is not ALL down to him. The injuries he has had to put up with this season have made an already difficult job much harder but that's where my sympathy ends.

Without doubt RS has set the team up not to concede and has taken the "Park the bus" tactic to a new level with the policy firmly in place at both Home and Away games irrespective of the opposition. In my opinion this single dimensional approach to tactics should earn him the nickname Russ The Buss.

At the start of the season we were told a top 6 finish was the target but right now with 5 teams breaking clear at the top the target is looking to be just 6th place. To get back on track we now need to win 5 of our next 8 games, even to target 6th place, that is pretty much the minimum.

Injuries, suspensions and Russ The Bus make that nothing more than a pipe dream. His appointment a year ago was difficult to understand and given the clubs stated target for this season his survival in the role of team manager is almost impossible to understand.

Time for him to go before it's to late to achieve a top 6 finish this season.

Last season we were awful boring and one dimensional. This season we started well and it was looking up. I thought well he could be improving. But we have reverted back to last season. Yes we may have the same amount of points and we won't go down. We won't go up either. But what we have lost is thousands of fans who refuse to give the club there hard earned cash to watch that drivel. And I for one can't really blame them. It's a real effort these days to watch a game. The only thing I look forward to is out with my mates before the game. If I didn't have that I wouldn't go if I'm honest.
