City have shot fewer times out of all the championship clubs this season.

The Bluebirds have struggled to score in recent weeks and this stat might explain why.

Cardiff City have fired off less efforts than any other Championship side this season.

Stats provided by OPTA show that the Bluebirds have let fly just 105 times in their opening 14 matches, that's 10 less than the next worst (Birmingham - 115).

Two of the three promoted teams from League One are streets ahead of Russell Slade's men, with Preston North End having 132 shots on goal and Bristol City managing 135.

A Cardiff City player didn't managed to score a goal in the league during the whole of October, with their 1-0 win against Middlesbrough coming thanks to an own goal.

All the teams above and around the Bluebirds in the league table have scored more goals than them and it's probably because their shooting more often.

The league's top shooters, Reading, are on the cusp of the play-off spots and the third best, Brighton, are topping the Championship.

Russell Slade said that his side's goalscoring woes aren't down to any one thing in particular, but if they want to be genuine promotion contenders, they need to be having more shots on goal - However they manage it.

What really annoys me is joe mason. He is partly to blame for this because he lacks confidence and dosent shoot very often, hes a striker and should be shooting but lacks the confidence to do it often imo.

Also i aint a big whitts fan as people would have noticed but if he was pushing himself further up the pitch and smashing in shots with his wand of a left foot we would see a much better player and the whitts of old. Is it whitts fault not doing this or slade and the coaches i dont know?

But there are my two reasons why i think we are the lowest shooters in the league.

exactly , I like Whitts but he has been played out of position since Dave Jones left , Malky ruined Whitts by playing him as a holding midfielder.
I'm not surprised we have the lowest shots in the division this is down to Slades boring defensive tactics with hardly any creativity in the team

Tbh i think Mason needs Jones beside him because he creates space for Mason we have got Malone Ralls and Noone on his day can put in some decent crosses.

Those stats are well out of date and whilst it is true that we are one of the worst teams for the number of shots in the Championship so far this season at this moment we are NOT the wors. At the end of the Ipswich match there were actually 4 teams (Brentford, Burnley, Ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday) who have had fewer shots.

A very selective piece of reporting by the muppets at Mediawales. What I would expect is accurate reporting but with that lot it's obviously to much to ask.

Noone is the only player we have willing to shoot from outside the area. We defo need more shots from our midfield players.
