Can we have Kenwyne back please?

01/11/15

By Steve Tucker

There’s so such a thing as a one-man team, but when it comes to scoring goals, the Bluebirds can’t seem to do it without their big striker Kenwyne Jones.

That’s not a theory, rather something demonstrated by cold hard facts.

Since Jones last played for the Bluebirds in a 1-1 draw at Brighton, before injuring his shin away on international duty back on October 1, his Bluebirds team-mates have not managed to actually score a goal.

Steve Tucker makes a case for Cardiff's defence but insists the attack is toothless

OK, that has not stopped them winning a game, a George Friend own goal saw Russell Slade’s men beat Middlesbrough, but they have been incapable of actually finding the net themselves.

It’s not just the goals last season’s top-scorer offers, almost as vital is the fact that he brings out the best in Joe Mason.

Of the five goals Mason has managed this season, four came when he started next to Jones.

Cardiff fans will be hoping Jones is finally fit to play a part at Leeds on Tuesday night.

How can our so called fans diss our currently best striker, it's beyond me. We have been spoilt for far too long

We do need Kenwyne back yes, but these papers write things like 'why we need Bruno back'. But our solid defence says different. Everyone knows better than the manager or so they think. We'd win 46 out of 46 with our fans in charge.

Agree blu, everyone calls KJ rotten and he's head and shoulders above any other striker on our books currently. KJ has most certainly been missed and our current run of results back that up. 0 goals scored by us in open play in for 360 minutes.
