" Russell Slade backs Vincent Tan "

BBC

01/11/15

Cardiff City boss Russell Slade says owner Vincent Tan is still committed to the club and is prepared to strengthen the squad in the January window.

The Malaysian businessman has been to just one match this season, the 2-2 draw at Queen's Park Rangers in August, and just two matches in 2015.

But Slade is adamant that Tan's interest is still as high as ever.

"The owner is keen for us to be successful and strengthen if necessary in January," Slade said.

"I had a good conversation with Vincent two days ago, he's obviously aware of the injuries and that we're working hard to stay in there... he's watching every game.

"Together we'll have a look at it in that January window."

Cardiff are one of four clubs that Tan is involved in, with Belgian club KV Kortrijkt, Sarajevo in Bosnia-Herzegovina and a minority stake in Los Angeles FC in the USA part of his sporting portfolio.

Annis, VT needs to put his hand in his pocket now, not January, by then even if we are still inbeaten and havent scored many goals, we will be way out of the top six. That is assuming that with Jones, Saadi and Macheda back, we still don't score

IF NECESSARY ???

Let's be honest with ourselves...Slade just says what he is told..there will be little if any money available in the next window

I'm just bored of all the broken promises and crap that comes out of the club these days

Boring football...boring manager..bored fans and STILL NO DEBT TO EQUITY AS PROMISED....thanks Mr Tan

And this is why we have low attendances.

We have to be realistic and look at the clubs debt. If more money is spent on players then that's more money racked up on the Clubs Credit Card.

I believe money or some kind of resource will be made in January but it won't be millions and VT will rightly expect it to be spent wisely.

Surely we can't argue with that?

Look at what Slade has bought in. Would you have faith in giving him money to spend?

Only under an emergency level will Tan give him money and that will be to fill in the empty places we have got through injuries.

Necessary? I'm sure managers (& fans) can always dream up a necessity and demand a short term remedy i.e. more money spent on another risky signing.

How many Adam Le Fonde's Macheda's Cornelius or even Revel have we to go through before the penny drops that making another signing does-not guarantee success?

Why our coaching staff (past and present) simply cannot get the best out these players is baffling.

Heard the same bullshit at the end of last season and no funds were provided over the summer except for Ameobi's loan.

If Marshall is sold (and he will be if what Tan feels is the right offer comes in), it's possible that a small amount of money may be available for Slade to waste on players he won't pick.

Or Tan to spend on players Slade doesn't want.

Take your pick.

Tan's actions would suggest that is exactly what he is doing.

Based on Ravel & possibly Doyle in all honesty I wouldn't trust Slade too much in the transfer market. Malone wasn't a bad buy though.
