' Vincent Tan tells Slade he will back him in January transfer market '

Slade says Tan remains committed to Cardiff city despite being a rare visitor to the Welsh capital these days

By Steve Tucker
Cardiff City boss Russell Slade insists owner Vincent Tan is still dedicated to the Bluebirds’ cause and determined to see the club back in the Premier League.

The Malaysian businessman has been conspicuous by his absence this season having attended only one game in person this campaign so far, Cardiff’s draw away at QPR back in August.

Indeed Tan has been at just two Cardiff games in 2015, the previous one being Cardiff’s clash against Derby back in January.

The Malaysian has also expanded his football empire with Belgian side KV Kortrijk, FK Sarajevo and Los Angeles Football Club, leading to suggetsions his interest in the Bluebirds could wane.

But Slade says Tan is as committed as ever following talks with the billionaire this week.

“The owner is still dedicated to the club and what we are trying to do. Absolutely. That’s definite,” said Slade.

“I had a good conversation two days ago. We had a chit-chat. He’s watching every game.”

As he prepares his side to travel to Ipswich in the Championship this weekend, Slade also has one eye on the January transfer window already.

With Cardiff struggling to score goals at the moment Slade could be in the market for a marksman and insists he is monitoring the situation. He is also hopeful owner Tan will back him in the transfer window should it be necessary.

“Certainly we will be looking at it definitely,” added Slade.

“The owner is very keen for us to be successful and to strengthen if we need to in January. He’s aware of the injuries and aware we are working hard and trying to stay in there. We’ll look at it in the January window.

“We will review the situation, we are always looking. Always looking to improve in areas where we think it is needed. That never stops. January is a chance to do something about it, but the research never stops. It’s crazy really.”

Annis, If we sell Marshall we may see someone come in but other than that I think RS is just saying what the club / Tan wants him to.

Its all well and good giving Slade funds but will he actually make any signings that will significantly improve the team? Does he have the knowledge of the Premier leauge and championship to make effective signings that will push us forward or will he just dip into the lower leauges and get a few more average players that wont make much of an impact.

Think he will do the latter

You have to get the ball in to the forwards before they can score, we need an attacking midfielder before new a striker.

Well Slade as Trollope to advise him as well, or do you think Slade will ignore his NO2? Because most on here say Trollope is behind improvement from last season! If that's case Trollope is waste of space if no say in players coming in.

You got it. The club has devolved since tan joined, we can blame managers and players all we like but it's the people who run the club that are ultimately responsible for the disillusion. The sooner he clears our debt and sells the club the better.

One out of three for you, but the football was actually worse under Malky (his success hid that and lots were disillusioned with his tactics even during the promotion season)

And it's the fans that make the 'atmosphere' not Tan. He is not (or rarely is) at the stadium and it's one of the few things he can't (or shouldn't be able) to control

To say otherwise is simply making excuses! ;)

Days before Tan took us over we were facing liquidation for unpaid tax. In the years that followed we broke out transfer record various times and got to the Premiership.

Also devolved means to pass on powers. Did you mean regressed? If so that's not the case.

I am classing Malky as a Tan signing. Hated his football.
Although easier to get behind than slade.

You want to release pressure of life by going to the football
Not add to it!
Win lose or draw.
I want to see a game of football and some banter in the stands.
Is that too much to ask for £24 a time walk up plus train, plus food, plus beer?( I'm an ST btw)

Transfer fees and Premiership ment nothing, was the least enjoyable seasons following cardiff I can remember. All just part of the circus.

Fair enough. 6000 people think otherwise as have stopped supporting since then.

Even without that you cannot disagree with the liquidation part of my post.

Must be mad on his recent signings.

I'd ask slade to go through the players he has signed and tell me why they are value to the club and why he needs more.

Let me guessssss... Tan has found another signing he is going to donate Slade. A Midfielder from Belgium perhaps?

Yes he did. Do you believe that is giving a manager support?

That's happening in a few of clubs now I don't really think it's the right way.

Would anyone decent want to play for Slade?

What decent player could he attract?

No he won't..... Our whole Modus operandi is trimming the squad down.

Apart from Marshall we won't have any offers for our players, so we won't need any more.
