GO IT ALONE JOE MASON?

By Chris Wathan

28/10/15

Joe Mason, in the main, has been a key man in contributing to Cardiff’s attempts to switch style and bring a greater degree of movement to Cardiff’s attacks.

It remains to be seen whether it all truly works with a big man foil as has been tried with Kenwyne Jones and Alex Revell.

When he drops deep the clever balls through aren’t suited to their style and when he pushes on he hasn’t quite got the explosiveness to make the most of knock downs.

There could be a call for playing a narrower 4-3-3 – with the full-backs providing the width – where Mason can go centrally and get more support and greater chance to utilise his interlinking strength.

It would also provide Ameobi with a more fitting position.

Slade has only ever payed 4-4-2, I've never seen him use anything else no matter how the game is going!

Amoebi is crying out for 433.

Dinosaur Slade will never change 4 4 2.

That's why we are so flat and predictable
