James Bond Spectre - Opinions? spoilers

Wed Oct 28, 2015 10:06 pm

I thought that was pretty crap in comparison to some previous bonds.

Not even close to some of Pierce Brosnans atmospheric ones.

The plot was diabolical. Why are they on a random train in the desert in north Africa all dressed up? Happily going into the headquarters of the main bad guy????. There is no explanation for what's going on.

The bad guy villain was shit in comparison to jaws and other evil henchmen.

Many say you need to just enjoy the action with bond. OK, I agree. But this just all kinds of shit. At least try and tell a story and explain what is actually happening . There was zero chemistry between him and that women he apparently fell in love with after 2 seconds.

The bit which annoys me most is they're getting desperate. Why blow up MI6 ffs?? Other directors surely will want to use that in the future??. And why talk about Bonds childhood!!! That is the main part which has kept the franchise alive the fact he is a mystery. Each film is a one off, why try and find a linear story line?. I'll tell you, because they're desperate and they're going to pump them out for fun now.

Keep going and there'll be nothing left. A hour a half of watch and car adverts.

There, I'm off to watch something decent like GoldenEye.

The next Bond film is a reboot of GoldenEye but the main villain is now from Tokyo. Apparently, the working title is 'JapsEye'. Taxi.

Firstly the train didnt go straight into the lair they were picked up by that abandoned station and its a Bomd film so dont put to much logic into them and you will enjoy it more it was decent one more traditional this time which is what I miss from these current films and it was way better than Quantum of Solace and Skyfall edges it. :thumbright:

Spectre could have been the best Bond ever if only he had finally managed to bum Moneypenny. 30 years I've been suggesting it to their scriptwriters and I honestly can't believe they haven't included it again. Mind you, I've also written to the BBC suggesting that Dr Who bums Carla in the Christmas special and they've 'politely declined' my idea too. :(

:laughing6: My life would be complete if it was me that got to bum Carla. But the BBC turned that one down too. :(

But I can understand that. I went in to it knowing that. They've used that fact to cover up huge plot holes.

In previous James Bond films he would beat people up while drinking a martini etc. That was the part that was mindless.

Nothing in this film is funny. And the mindless part of the film, which used to be comedic like that above, is replaced by a mindless story which they don't even attempt to explain.

And, I didnt realise youd already made a thread on the subject!.

I thoroughly enjoyed it as a relaxing adventure. But I always judge a film by if I enjoy it.

Critics !!! - Personal opinion after all.

Good for the older ones with Blofeld making yet another comeback after being dropped down a chimney stack in his wheelchair by Roger Moore.

LOVED EM ALL :P

Blooobirds Forever !!! :bluescarf: :bluebird: :old:

If I was directing a Bond film, I'd make one where he has to take on the combineed powers of two of his historical arch-enemies who are Oddjob and Blofeld. My movie would be called 'Blowjob' and I would get Fat Adele to sing the theme in exchange for cake.

Jut think one of those scenes could been the the bay if not for some jobsworth politician saying no to them! :o

Completely agree with that Allan. Yet another lost opportunity due to the usual poor decisions made by these parochial career 'politicians' who apparently 'lead' the nation. Is it any wonder that Wales is bottom of the financial league with clowns such as these consistently at the helm?
