Once manga and Turner are back I would put him out on loan ,he's never going to be ahead of Fabio,Marlins,and Peltier

Trouble is, Annis, Fabio and Malone are ahead of Declan in Russel Slade's plans. Really don't see any future for him at the City. Not sure he's being 'pushed away', though. This happens all the time in football. Sad, but true.

What has he ever done to make him a first choice in any position?

He's a good player you got to remmber he is still young but I think he's hasn't been treated very fairly loves playing for his hometown club I wouldn't blame him if he decided to move on but I rather he stayed

Kennedy is another who has not been given a chance this season. John in my opinion is not a left back. He has never been given an opportunity to play as a left winger which was his natural position in the academy.

Slade swaps certain players around but there are others who are untouchable and will never get dropped.

I've never rated Malone even though he scored a fantastigoal at qpr very average I think

Slade has no choice I'm afraid, there are better players than him. He's not going to play him just for the sake of having a Welsh player in the team.

He'd get just as much stick if he was playing Declan and Fabio was out of the team, he can't win.

Not good enough as a full back, unlikely to get ahead of any of the wingers.

Needs a loan.

Defensively we aren't conceding many. So there's no room for niceties in football.
BUT if he wants to keep him happy, the only other option is pushing Fabio up on the wing. He will get up and down the wing and also add cover for John on the overlap.
Fabio started as a winger anyway.

Declan is a top player. Much better than Malone. He has huge potential.
He's ready for international games. That says it all to me. He needs to be played. When he was playing he had fire, passion and skill.
This kid will go far. If they let him. If not he's going to be given away!! Like all the other good players!!

Agree with Gareth. He is a left winger just like Jeremy Corbyn but much better

Play him on the wing, he is a winger. The Norwich game under Ole in the Champ where we blew the lead, showed that he couldn't defend but I like the way his running style is in terms of attacking, he's got a good cross on him as well.

John is not better than Malone. Malone has had a good start to the season and is unfortunate to not be in the team because of Fabio's form. I prefer Fabio in Peltier's position and Malone slotting in at LB. John needs to get a loan move somewhere and have instructions on being played as a winger

In my opinion, a bright prospect but if the club is going to look after him and benefit from his potential, I guess he needs to go out on loan. Sad but probably best all round.

Totally agree you can only play so many on the pitch ,he needs to go out on loan

I would choose Fabio first every time, I am a Declan John fan and All I've done in this topic is post the latest on Declan
I would choose Declan over Malone though, everyone is entitled to their opinions

Good point and the answer is "not enough".

However, the boy is right to be concerned about his development and raising the issue with his manager. Hopefully he will get a chance somewhere soon.

We can't start 4 full backs and he'd also be 3 Rd choice on left mid, so get him out on loan to L1, somewhere closer if possible.

That's the thing. He can't defend very well. He's had a few games and proven this. But I've seen him run forward and put a decent cross into the box. It's clear as day, he should at least be given a chance to play left wing. As we only have Noone and Pilkington who're quick wingers. Declan faster than both of them.
