' IS THIS STRIKER THE ONE FOR CITY '

Tue Oct 27, 2015 7:24 pm

Only 18 yrs old but is Aaron Collins a striker for the future for Cardiff City ?

Newport County have a Welsh U19 striker on their books called Aaron Collins, a product of Bristol City's academy, the centre forward is rated very highly at Newport.

Burnley have offered £65,000 for Collins and another Lancashire club are showing an interest.

Newport really believe this youngster can make it at a higher level and believe with another year of coaching he could be a hit in the Championship.

Should City take a punt on a striker that they could pick up for £100,000 or less?

Slade recently spoke about the importance of our Academy and U21 team. He made a point about the importance of getting the quality of recruitment right so the Club can work with and develop good quality young players and said it's important to get some good young Welsh players coming through. Haven't seen Collins play but apparently Newcastle are sniffing around too. It would be embarrassing if we missed out on him when he is on our doorstep. At £100,000 or less it is not much of a gamble. :bluescarf:

Make a deal with Newport to sign him then loan him back to them for the rest of the season.

We cant even give our young talent I.e osullivan and healey a sniff of first team action so why would a young and hopefully ambitious player want to co e here? I know that I wouldn't, ,,,, :sladeout: :bluebird:

Young talented player, he hates having those on his books , he either gets rid or doesn't play them

TBH I don't know a lot about this kid but I assume there is something in it if so many clubs are interested.

But surely the point is here how are Newport County running a more successful academy than us? This is the second young super prospect to emerge this season following on from the lad who joined Manchester United.

Whatever happened to our academy the one which produced the backbone of the Welsh team which is heading to France next summer?
