" Your killing our football club "

Mon Oct 26, 2015 10:36 pm

Tonight was the first time in a long time I genuinley felt like handing my season ticket back and walking away. Be it Wayne Nash or whoever, turfing you kids out in 116 was an embarrassment. For what? Supporting their team, one kid was 15 I was laughing at him myself. Totally harmless. Stewards hang your heads in shame, the worzzels did what they want abused our Welsh flag time and time again yet a few fans were singled out.

No trouble, in fact the way they behaved was more likely to cause trouble. You want our club dead, your doing a good job. Kid was 15 and handed to the police at the end to be told off. Robert the head guy over there, embarrassing.

I love my city but even I am questioning things now, that's not football, that's not Derby matches, that's not what I fell in love with. On the pitch dire, off the pitch stewards even worse. :sad7:

Not a great night and I was very much looking forward to it as it was the Severnside Derby. Completely agree with the OP on this and it was awful tonight, considering the occasion. I sit in the Grange with my lad and a group of friends and before we had to move as half the stand was to be closed, our seats were about 8 seats away from the away fans, so the atmosphere and banter was great. I know its the FS, but when we were sat next to the away, there were a few old heads that would get a bit of singing going, usually started by the Canton but it used to get going. Now, we've been shifted accross, there is a chasm between us and the away which has killed it. The closure should have been done the other way i.e. so the gap is between the Grandstand. Last time we played the Wurzels, the atmosphere was fantastic where we sat and absolutely no problems in terms of safety. Wayne Nash will never switch the Canton with the FS, we all know that but that switch would be a massive improvement. I hope at least he would move what's left of us in the FS so that we are near to the away again so that we can at least be in a position to help lift the atmosphere that the current stadium layout seems deliberately mapped out to kill off. And we saw the two lads being hoyed out by the stewards and it stuck out like a bulldogs bollocks. Why? Because they were standing up and singing at the back of 116? The gap between the home fans and away in the Ninian and Grange is like a no-mans land and to my mind, is just to save a few quid on policing. I believe that football fans love the passion and atmosphere of this unique game that includes a bit of 'edginess'. I also believe that it one of the contributing factors why attendances are now so low. I'm sure that Wayne's HSE checklist is perfect but this over-sanitisation is for me one a real issue. The only way that you now get to enjoy a proper passionate atmosphere is at away games. There's a reason for that and its a question that Ken and Mehmet should be asking Wayne to answer and sensibly and safetly implement.

It's the reason I moved to the Canton stand mate, can't be arsed with the hassle of dealing with those dickheads who work for the club. The club are happy when we're all sat down quietly and just let the away fans take the piss week in week out. It's all fine as long as WE keep quiet and don't dare to stand up...

I agree, I moved from 116 two tears ago to the canton because it was just ridiculous!! Guess what? It's even worse, they did seem to let the lads stand in 116 but only because every time they tried we just rose and sang stand up if u hate Bristol. Tonight wasn't about standing up, it was being total jobs worths singling out a few who were singing and involved in the banter. For god sake, the trouble days are over it's gone. It's actually the stewards living in the past not the fans! We did ok with atmosphere tonight at the back of 116 but still to many empty seats and over zealous stewarding. Some enjoy it, some are visibly embarrassed by the orders given to them.

The club has meetings about the atmosphere, what a load of nonesense. The fans have the passion albeit those carrying it are dwindling and I can see why, the main problem is clear and obvious yet we want to play music and bang drums. Do me a favour open your eyes Ccfc, watching fans disrespect my country then stewards moving in when the banter was given back.

A sad night :sad7:

I think you must be wrong lads because all I keep hearing is that the club, whatever that is nowadays I don't know, really want to help improve the atmosphere, they keeping saying it anyway whilst doing the opposite. They remind me of some sort of secret state trying to suppress the population whilst denying it all along. I dread to think how many more were put off coming back again tonight for a multitude of reasons. Until the football improves, they swap the ends and start to treat our fans like humans it's going to get far worse.

Re: " Your killing our football club "

Tue Oct 27, 2015 8:08 am

I didn't see what happened in 116 but I can comment that the atmosphere was crap and our support pathetic (again)

If the lack of support is due to some on going dispute between club stewards/officials and fans then a meeting has to be arranged with supporters organisations to address the matter.

Since we have moved to CCS we seem to have lost that second half intervention from fans. It generally started in the Grandstand and spread around the ground and pushed to team home time and again.

There is potential to recreate that support at CCS but it needs everyone pushing in the same direction. So come on Trust/Supporters Club/Unofficial Away Day Half-Time delegates, start getting the message over and find a solution.

Re: " Your killing our football club "

When you have fans who in second half were willing for to Bristol to score ( because of their dislike of Slade ) , what hope is there. 7 of them , 2 rows in front of me in Grandstand, literally shouting for Bristol to score, blokes in there late 20's, first time they been there this season, really slagging Slade off. Our support is becoming a joke of football.

Completely agree with OP.
I was in 116. Moved from front area to the many spare seats in back to get an atmosphere going. I'd say 30 or 40
Like minded singers there.
Straight away the stewards came. Then the cat and mouse sit down, stand up all game. Pathetic.
I know game was dire but the suffocating stewards are killing the club.
A derby match with dead atmosphere. Shocking
I'm an ST.
Won't be renewing. Nothing to do with slade, promotion or relegation. It's about enjoyment. I've seen shite served up
For most of my 30 years. But enjoyed the banter, camaraderie, humour and togetherness.

For me it will be away only from next season.

Club should be together from mad tan to the tea lady and the fans the glue in the middle.

City is currently a blueprint of how to ruin a football club.

Abysmal stewarding as normal at the sterile CCS ... Embarrassing

Really dire, awful, and dare I say it, we now have the worst atmosphere in Wales..... Well, out of the top 4 clubs (Jacks, Us, Newport, Wrexham).

Re: " Your killing our football club "

Tue Oct 27, 2015 9:32 am

What we want is an atmosphere - banter - rivalry etc - but in a nice safe way - which was what there was last night.

Having the away fans on their own miles away from anyone but the family stand is a guaranteed lifeless atmosphere.

Where I was last night - the atmosphere was so much better than what it has been. Ping pong football with 2 sides that couldnt score in a brothel somehow help the atmos as well.

No end product - what is it 2 goals in October and one of those was an own goal.

Brizzle could have beat us 3 nil last night if it wasnt for Marshall and hopeless strikers

Re: " Your killing our football club "

British football has to embrace passing and not kettle it.
Violent disorder is very different to noise and atmosphere.

At times last night I felt like I was being watched and looked to see stewards
Looking and watching and pointing to fans while we all watched the game.

Seeming to actively be seeking to throw fans out.

These are our club stewards. Paid by ccfc. Yet driving fans away?!?!

Nash in my opinion has not seen the big picture and his effective yet silo mentality to control of crowds has
Taken any guts out of the stadium.
Hang your heads in shame Cardiff City

You are shitting on your fans (again)

Re: " Your killing our football club "

They don't want normal fans, they want a happy clappy ground full of families and a shit atmosphere !!!

Yes let more kids in, but the game has gone for your average long term fan..........

Re: " Your killing our football club "

Tue Oct 27, 2015 10:27 am

The club have been over the top on our own fans for the last 3-4 years, they themselves helped killed the passion and atmosphere.

Re: " Your killing our football club "

I have been a season ticket holder since 1992-93. This season was the first time I have not renewed. The last 6 years my young lad also had a season ticket too.

The football last season was some of the worst and most boring to watch. However the main problem for me for not renewing is the passion and atmosphere has gone from city.

I will always support city but the last few years have simply not been fun. It's been more of a chore to go down not something I look forward too. So now I choose the games I want to go too.

Lots will say I am not a die hard true fan. If you know me like my friends and family this could not be further from the truth.

When it's fun to watch city again. Not necessarily winning games. I will return more often. Last night on and off the field will not get me or my circle of city fans down there.

Drums. Clappers....it's rubbish passion as a city fan was always inside us. To my mind the last 4 or 5 years. New stadium effect has truly sapped the passion out of the most ardent fans. Me included.

Re: " Your killing our football club "

I don't believe for one second that the club have meetings about the atmosphere. EVERYONE knows exactly what would improve the atmosphere dramatically but the club are too stubborn and want to maintain a "family" image. Dumping families on either side of the away end shouldn't be the way to do that.

Re: " Your killing our football club "

Tue Oct 27, 2015 12:13 pm

Our clubs a joke what is a football match without atmosphere and passion? The stewards are always cunts who think they can do what they want on a major power trip, its gonna take some years of good ownership and management to pick the club to where it was before and it kills me to think that us as fans can't do f**k all about it other than boycott alltogether

simple answer is follow City away, far better experience. Or like a lot of the old lot follow Wales away - that's the way forward

I felt the same.
I moved from the canton to lower 116 this season, same price but thought I'd join the 116 revolution.

I took a friend to the game last night ( a swindon supporter ) and was embarrassed trying to explain why the lads were getting chucked out.

I sat there myself last night thinking about all these free kids coming in next month. When I first came to ninian park, it was the atmosphere that more than the football that made me want to come back.

what are these new kids gonna have to make them want more?

people complain about nash and stewards why cant appropriate fans tell the silly sod whats hes doing ? go to press social media ect ect surely it would highlight things?

Re: " Your killing our football club "

Fans in these areas where the stewards are over the top need to stand up and do something. So you get chucked out, maybe banned? So what? How does any group force change in a system. Sometimes sacrifices have to be made. What are they going to do ban everyone of you?? They will have no fans left and by February no one will go at all if we're not up there. Maybe all our passionate fans who would stand up to it have already stopped going. Can you imagine our fans putting up with this 10 or 15 years ago? No chance. The modern fan hey, too scared to say boo to a goose..... :old:

Your spot on city fans used to back each other up. Passion has gone from city fans me included

Re: " Your killing our football club "

Totally agree. I've had my season ticket in that section since moving to the stadium. It was awesome but last night finally gave up and went in the canton. I feel the club has been very clever and cunning in slowly moving the fans away. Maybe another cost cutting method to save on policing and stewarding the section? Don't know but it's killed the section. Re watched the game on sky when got back(a good sleeping pill lol) and a neutral watching this game would have sworn it was at Ashton Gate. Sort it out Cardiff. I love you city but they do say love is blind

Not me mate, had it out with them at the end, told them I will be writing a letter echo social media. Did it in the correct way, it's a complete. So who is responsible for sending them up? That is where the problem lies, be it Nash or somebody above him or below enough is enough.

The sooner they realise we aren't going to jump 20 seats attacking rival fans in front of CCtv the sooner the problem will get better. Those days are long gone yet they seem obsessed by it. A complete joke, I actually thought we had a go atmosphere wise but numbers were required.
