ELEVEN football fans will answer bail next month after a pub brawl broke out in the lead-up to the Newport County clash against Leyton Orient this summer.

Around 40 County and Orient supporters were alleged to have joined the fracas at the John Wallace Linton pub in Cambrian Road, Newport, on August 22.
A 77-year-old Newport pensioner was left with cuts to the forehead and a woman was forced to run down the stairs with her pushchair.
A witness described scenes at the pub as 'mayhem'.
Eleven men were arrested on suspicion of affray following the incident, Gwent Police said.
A police spokesman confirmed on Friday the people allegedly involved in the brawl were Newport County and Leyton Orient fans.
The 11 men will answer bail between November 2 and 5.
Police attended a report of disorder at the pub at around 1pm. Newport County lost 3-2 against Orient later that afternoon.
At the time, a witness said: "I ran for cover. Most people ran onto the street.
"A woman even ran down the stairs with her pushchair. You can imagine how that went.
“I had never seen anything like that before.”
A spokesman for JD Wetherspoon, which runs the pub, confirmed in August they were aware of an incident in the pub adding it had resulted in the temporary closure of the pub while it was cleared and cleaned.
Police appealed for information following the brawl and asked witnesses to call 101 quoting the log number 95 22/08/15.

Cewnty cowards at it again! Know where to be seen when Rochdale took over their town centre a few years back. Wonder how many Cewnty will travel to Orient and call it on then? The inbreds should realise that there is no room for trouble at football today, as Bristol City fans are finding out, the actions of a few affect the majority!

The Leyton Orient fans ripped down a Welsh flag outside the Courtyard in the city centre. I know who's side I would be on. County are no cowards, and neither are the Jacks. Just because we hate them, doesnt make it true.

Agree would kick off re Welsh flag, but to attack a pub with women and children in it? Orient were in the pub and Cewnty attacked the pub. Funny when faced with bigger numbers (Rochdale for instance) nothing is done by Cewnty? How many times to Cewnty turn up in the 80's and slap anyone when we were away? As for the Jacks the incident down Canton sums them up - equal numbers and then they are on the back foot. Didn't the Jacks start on Cardiff Devil fans in London a few years back?

I was in the John Wallace at the time.
Group of innocent Orient fans in the pub, had been there a while. They were not looking for any trouble.
Large group of Newport fans strolled in obviously half pissed. They started singing and soon noticed the Orient fans. Went over and started being aggressive. Orient fans looked visibly concerned and tried to walk away. All kicked off.
There is regularly opposition fans in that pub mind so dont know why this game was any different.
Didnt see or hear anything about the flag being taken down mind.

I must add, I remember on a night out in that exact pub some Cardiff City fans being attacked - obviously Newport based - had their blue and white scarves on. Was back when we had beaten Man City.

As above, a couple of Orient families with young kids had been in there for a while enjoying a meal and minding their own business. Mixed pleasantly enough with a few regulars. No probs. Then a group of young County yobs marched in, hell bent. One Orient guy saw what was coming and stood up saying 'come on lads, it's all families here.' And it kicked off. Not any great comings together but the braveless wankers tipped up all the tables and tossed chairs around before fecking off.
The other Wetherspoons (The Queens) around the corner always have security on the door on Saturday. The tw*t of a manager at this one refused to pay for security and not for the first time, the regulars were under siege.
The company was furious and stripped him of his manager's badge and told him he could either work in the kitchen at the Bell Hanger in Chepstow or feck off!
They now have security on the door on Saturdays.
