We will go into the severnside Derby with no players from Cardiff, will they really understand or care enough ???
It would be nice to have a few more local players, but it seems less and less likely with our youth production these days.
What's happend to all Sams good work ???

Don't know much about them now, do they have any ???
Not just a City thing, most fans want some homegrown players that they can relate to.
It's quite nice watching Wales and they relate to us supporters, it's shame we don't have any !!!

At least a Welsh one? You are spot on.
They dont care yet they demand that we do.

Newport County have 8 registered Welsh first teamers. Should we try to get some Welshies into the squad? Certainly some better/equal Welsh lads to our current crop.

Wes Burns might feature tomorrrow, a former City youth product

Be nice but makes little difference, it's all about the players understanding what it means. The worzzels have very rarely had any carrot crunchers in the team.

I would love nothing more than to have some Welsh players in the squad and Slade has mentioned that they are working a lot on this as of late.
Trouble is though, will these players be good enough? Local lads like Aaron Ramsey don't come around often!
Also, I look at other teams and how many local players can sustain a first team place in their squad and it is rare. It's not surprising that smaller clubs like Newport have local players because they haven't got the funds to buy lots of a players and have to resort to this method.
So it is simply, are our Welsh lads in the academy good enough to get into the first team? If they are or have proven themselves at the development level then they should have a chance.

Declan John has been our best shot, and he is playing in one of pur strongest positions for competition (Fabio and Malone). Missed out on Yorath too. Tommy O'Sullivan looks strong, certainly deserves a chance like Ralls did. Lets face it, he has already scored in his second game up the road.
