There seems to be a new attitude

In our squad and they all fight for each other and well done slade under the circumstances injury list etc. He has proved me wrong so far and will eat a slice of humble pie. The championship is a tough league to get out of. These bottom teams need to be put to the sword.

You're right the team do fight a little more and seem to put in a bit more effort than last season but I don't see why the manager should be praised for this.
It should be a given whether you are running an under 10's team, a parks side or a professional squad.
He should have had them playing like this from day one.

I wasn't talking about turning the club around of course that takes time. I was talking up the effort the OP mentioned that is being shown lately. That should be a given now and from day one.

maybe so but perhaps they were trying , but because getting his ideas across took time to coordinate after all he got rid of players and brought others in, the effort might not have shown but results generally indicated effort if not consistency
