RUSSELL SLADE ON CITYS CURRENT INJURY SITUATIONS
23/10/2015
What is the latest situation with injuries?
I’ve actually written all that down on a piece of paper. Joe Ralls will train with us on Sunday .
He has done well, Joe has played an integral part for us this season, so it is good to see him back.
We knew it wasn’t major and he will train with us on Sunday. It was good we took him off half-time at Preston, it could have been worse and then he’s out long term.
A grade one can become a grade three tear. That would have been disappointing. We made the right move.
Now he’s given himself a chance to be in team for Monday. Kenwyne Jones is struggling to make the Bristol City game.
There is still some swelling there and that has a impact on weight bearing and just every day movement. It will get better.
A few more days and it should be a little bit freer for him.
He should be back the middle of next week Ben Turner is back on November 1 and the plan is to give him a game on November 13. Federico Macheda will be back on November 15 and Bruno manga is back on December 7.
That is the plan now with all these players. But things change so give us a few days leeway with them.
You seem to have handled the injuries well?
If you had said we would be missing Turner, Manga and Macheda at the start of the season we might have thought we would have problem. We have handled it well.
We want them back, of course, because I get more options then. We want them fit, it can only help us moving forward.
How do you judge the season so far?
It’s been a solid start. We’ve been fairly consistent even in defeat, but we could have arguably picked up a few more points.
There is still room for improvement. We need to show more creativity at times and we need to be more ruthless when we get opportunities.

He should be able to play by the beginning of November.
