Peter Whittingham wants another trip to the Premier League

At the age of 31, Peter Whittingham is hardly the grand old man of Cardiff City , but asked how long he will keep going, the magical midfielder quipped: “Er, maybe one more game!”
Bluebirds fans will be hoping it is a lot longer than that, but that next game just happens to be the first Severnside derby in nearly three years and once more Whittingham will have a big part to play as Russell Slade’s men look to keep their good start going under the floodlights against Bristol City in the Welsh capital on Monday night .
" 400 not out "
But, as he nears his 400th appearance for the Bluebirds, Monday will make it 398 for the man who arrived at the club in January 2007, with Whittingham determined just to keep going as long as possible.
And he admits that he has one main motivation keeping him going this season, and that is to lay a ghost of the past to rest, by helping his beloved Bluebirds get back to the Premier League.
“I feel good, I’ve been lucky with injuries. I’ll take it as it comes,” said Whittingham.
“Anyone would love another crack at the Premier League. What a league it is. I experienced it with Cardiff once, it wasn’t the greatest experience, but certain games were unbelievable. Some of it you will remember forever. I feel if we can get back up we are more ready for it than we were before. We have experienced it. We are better equipped, but we need to get there.”
