Three people were arrested and one man was taken to hospital following the drama in Exchange Square

Suspected Polish football hooligans were involved in running battles in Manchester on Wednesday afternoon.

Three people were arrested and one man was taken to hospital following the drama outside Sinclair’s Oyster bar in Exchange Square.

Police confirmed that those arrested were Polish.

Sevilla are due to play Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.

It is believed a group of up to 25 attacked a small group of Sevilla fans outside the city centre bar.

One Sevilla supporter suffered a head wound during the incident although he declined hospital treatment.

Police were called to the area at around 1.30pm and chased a number of supporters from the scene.

Some three people - all believed to be Polish nationals - were arrested nearby on suspicion of violent disorder.

Shocking footage has emerged of fans hurling chairs at each other during angry scenes just outside the bar.
