' Cardiff City injury news: Kenwyne Jones is still in Trinidad but Joe Ralls could make Bristol City derby clash '

Cardiff City's growing injury list has prompted Russell Slade to look to the loan market but he could at least have some good news ahead of next week's derby

Cardiff City are still waiting to see how long they will be without striker Kenwyne Jones – but Joe Ralls could return for Monday night's clash with Bristol City.

Jones is due back in the country after an injury scare on international duty with Trinidad & Tobago last week when a heavy collision in friendly action against Panama prompted fears he had broken his leg.

Trinidad officials claimed the frontman will be out for two weeks after X-Rays showed no bone damage but now Cardiff medics will assess the 31-year-old to determined the length of his lay-off.

Swelling to the injured shin area delayed his return to the UK but Slade is hoping for answers as he looked to Alex Revell to lead the line against Bristol City.

Joe Mason was able to recover from a groin problem to feature in the 1-0 win and ease worries about having to enter the loan market for attacking options.

Manager Russell Slade could be handed a further boost for the Severnside derby with news Ralls has a 50-50 chance of being available after suffering a grade one hamstring tear in last weekend's draw with Preston.
