' SOMETHING MUST CHANGE ASAP/CCFC FANS? '

Wed Oct 21, 2015 7:17 am

Last night was sadly a new Record low at the Cardiff City Stadium, 13,371

Something must change ASAP, City fans you are needed more than ever.

What must we do to improve crowds & atmosphere?

Monday is a massive game so get down the CCS & support the boys with Pride :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Don't agree they are needed more than ever but a bigger crowd would be good to see, hopefully improve the atmosphere.

Season ticket prices were way off in my opinion considering how hire last season was. If they want people back prices need to be slashed but then naturally your going to upset most season ticket holders.

Mason, Our club had a meeting with the Supporters months ago and a few weeks ago and promised different ideas, but once again all talk, No action.

Lets let All kids in for a £1 with a paying adult, We have 20,000 empty seats and a stadium with No atmosphere.

Luke,Season ticket prices for kids in the Ninian stand were Scandalous.

Without fans there is No club.

Exactly what the Bayern Munich fans were saying last night Annis.. Football is worth Billions of £££s, yet without te fans Football ain't worth a penny.

Ticket prices are a massive factor in today's society and again Bayern probably lead the way with their cheapest Season Ticket being £120

The club could offer current season ticket holders a big discount of next seasons ticket to appease them?

The 13K attending this season are the faithful who'll turn up game after game. The 10k or so missing are the glory hunters who will only come if we're playing entertaining football and winning and pushing for automatic promotion and I can't see that happening under Slade.

My oh my oh my :bluescarf:

You are so out of touch there are thousands who have supported City for years who have not renewed.

It's the easy option to say they are glory hunters and makes you feel better.

When in fact City have lost a core hard base of their support this season.

To think otherwise makes you as bad as the people in charge of the club :ayatollah:

I must confess next weekend I am choosing the Cardiff Devils over Cardiff City. The cost for me and my two kids is Devils £25 / CCFC £28, however the kids love the positive atmosphere at the Devils and they now always choose ice hockey over football.

I agree with your first statement but not the second. Sure, there will be 'glory hunters' who will reappear with success/better football, etc, but there are genuine fans who simply can't afford to attend regularly with current prices. The club really MUST do more to bring fans back and improve the atmosphere. Talk is cheap and actions speak louder than words. It's surely time for action and prove that the club genuinely cares.

Re: ' SOMETHING MUST CHANGE ASAP/CCFC FANS? '

I think us as fans should take a look at ourselves, people that I talk to, say it's the constant moaning of fans that have put them off the football club. We can ask the club to do more things, but these message boards are just filled up with people moaning all the time. We need to get the younger fans more passionate, how can that be done when all they read from older fans is moaning.

I don't think it has to change ASAP, fans have simply lost interest but I fully agree kids for a quid and flood it with the new generation. It will be decent Monday but it's hard work generating an atmosphere surrounded by empty seats

Good post, couldn't agree more lots of factors but if the club don't try they won't find out. Nobody benefits from empty ground, kids for a quid

Whether they are glory hunters or as you say "core hard base" that are missing, the 13k who are turning up game after game are the faithful who'll support the team no matter what. And supporting the team is what really matters no matter who is running or managing or playing for Cardiff City. :ayatollah:

Yes the price of tickets is a major issue but there are a lot of so called fans who just need any other excuse to moan and not to turn up.

Re: ' SOMETHING MUST CHANGE ASAP/CCFC FANS? '

Attended my first game in over a decade and was shocked at the silence around the ground!!!!
The canton stand tried every now and again but the Ninian was quieter than a cemetary.
I have read on here and listened on the radio about the lack of atmosphere but to be sat in the middle of it was a real eye opener to say the least.

The ROT set in I believe was when I was a season ticket holder in the early nineties. My mates and I used to have a laugh and joke and sing our hearts out under the gantry on the Bob Bank, the football was really dire at times but the banter more than made up for the teams short comings. This changed when they put seating on the Bob Bank!!!! As a group we drifted from our usual spot when more and more fans took up the seats where we used to stand. The FUN stopped and some of us drifted away for good.
And just to add a bit of perspective about "plastic v hardcore" fans, in Division Four we were averaging under TWO thousand per game, far less than now :laughing6:

My conclusion last night was the majority of the noise was from the fans STANDING in the Canton stand and away end. The club needs to find a way to reintroduce safe standing areas

kids for a £1....

One paying adult can bring 2 kids max for £1 each...firstly in the family area and then the "extended" overflow family areas...and then if demand is there open up other areas of the ground

Spot on....Moved back to the family this season, why can't there be a set U10, U16, U21 price throughout the ground with a paying adult ? I in what i thought was going to be a dire season didn't want to pay £220 for my daughter when its £359 for me and her in the family.

They took my support for granted. Got promoted and shoved up prices. Got relegated and were still high yet they didnt offer any refund. Loyalty works both ways . Too many lemmings in modern football fanbase.

Drop season ticket to 200 and kids for a 10.

Problem is they are then losing next season income as well, the ones who renewed this season are most likely the ones who will renew next season.

My season ticket would have went up if I had renewed which was madness in my opinion. They should have been dropped and by a lot. Get people in and make them want to renew.

1. Swap the family end and grangend - so home / away fans are next to each other - instant atmosphere

2 Allocate a whole section and give it away for a quid to kids in football clubs - kids who have mates that go - will want to go back with them - never underestimate pear pressure as a pull factor

3. It would be great if we could have some local lads in the playing squad (on merit of course) , I remember when we had Bellers , Ledley, Blake (Darcy and Nathan), Carl Dale, Ramsay etc

Well keep your head in the sand and think what you want!

Thousands down at home games, empty seats take it all in its called reality :bluescarf:

Personally I think the club have realised they are missing thousands of people who have supported the club for years and really don't know what to do about it.

At least they have the die hard ones, who live on their own or home with mum. Who don't have much of a life on the weekends other than drink and bullying people. At least it must give them some focus until the cricket season comes :bluescarf:

Re: ' SOMETHING MUST CHANGE ASAP/CCFC FANS? '

The club are doing what they can. The CCSC are the ones who wanted the meeting, the club aren't the ones dithering around! We need the flags to be printed, we need more meetings as well in terms of making new chants, planning out displays. The ticket prices aren't too bad. £10-13 for a student. £20 max I think it is for an adult. The club are trying to repair things, heck they even offered bring a mate for a fiver for the Wolves game. They're going to colleges and universities to try and sell the club to them. Maybe get a few people in town and the valleys in town centres offering these deals to the people to see if they'd like it. But we as fans have to get our asses into gear as well. Can't always blame the club. Our city as a whole is fickle and won't support a team unless it's successful. Blues and City are evident. Devils are successful and they pack out

Everything is wrong, I sat in the family stand and honestly dont enjoy it anymore.Say what you want about Sam H but he gave everyone the belief and that feeling is sadly lacking.Plus a team that look like they are just taking wages makes it worse , but just my opinion :ayatollah:
