' CARDIFF SUFFER MAJOR INJURY CRISIS '

Cardiff have suffered a major striker crisis ahead of tonight's clash with Middlesbrough - and it could force Russell Slade to turn to the loan market.

Main frontman Kenwyne Jones is out with a shin injury picked up playing for Trinidad & Tobago and now Joe Mason is rated 50/50 for the Boro clash facing a late fitness test on a tight groin.

We understand Sammy Ameobi will be back on the bench after starting in the draw at Preston on Saturday due to fitness issues meaning the Bluebirds may need to plunge Alex Revell back into the starting XI with talk of Anthony Pilkington, essentially a winger, being played out of position as a No.10.

Bruno Manga will miss the next 6-8 weeks, Kenwyne Jones will miss the game with a dead leg.

Ben Turner is back in light training but will also miss the game.

Macheda is out with injury.

Plus New signing Idriss Saadi, who is yet to see competitive action for the Bluebirds, was pulled out of a development game at Colchester nursing a sore hamstring picked up last week following his Cardiff debut in a friendly at Portsmouth.

There were hopes Saadi, who arrived from French Second Division outfit Clermont in the summer, would soon at least make the Bluebirds’ bench, but that process has now been put back another week at least. Striker Federico Macheda, who has been out long-term with a back injury, has returned to light individual training, but remains a way off from a return to action.

To be fair Annis, Le Fondre was given a chance with us. I know Solskjaer played him out of position but last season he played consistently as a striker under Slade and didn't do anything.

I agree on the likes of Daehli, Guerra etc though. Also think Doyle wasn't given enough of a chance this season, even though I'm not 100% he's good enough at this level. I've seen nothing from Mason.

In my eyes there's only one striker who's still at the club that's good enough, and that's Kenwyne Jones. We desperately need another striker but I find it strange that the club couldn't see that?

I think the club thought that Saudi would be good enough and be quick coming back to action but they need to act fast now

Even if all our strikers are fit ...... we have the weakest strike force out of all the fancied sides in the championship
Are our first choice strikers a handful for defenders ...... I haven't seen it yet ...... hopefully Idris Saddi is the answer
At the moment we are really grinding out results ...... we are hard to beat , but we are also finding it hard to win

Could Slade not even contemplate a 4-5-1 formation (come on Russ - this is the time to do it). With Ameobi up front and Noone/ Pilks as attacking wingbacks.

Is this beyond consideration for Slade - try something different!

Got operated two days ago.. Has hardly kicked a ball since christmas, and there is a chance he never will.
But we all wish him well, right? While pretending to know anything about his situasion..

Totally agree, crisis? More like a few players out who both divide opinion anyway, not sure what he will do but potentially a blessing in disguise?

Do you think he would get goals the way we play now?

I think most strikers would have struggled with the way we played last season.
