Surely no one expected us to

Get promoted in the first place - I'm not saying people wouldn't have dreamt or hope that we might. If we get promoted it'll be a massive achievement, if we make top 6 that's pretty good going and that's exactly what I said pre season and hasnt changed. At times we have sat above my expectations but never below so all good really in my opinion. :bluescarf: :bluebird:

Well they didn't. At the start of the season mid table was expected and the squad was average at best according to the experts on here. However, as we started to do ok we suddenly had a really good squad and top 6 was expected. I think this is possibly due to people not wanting to give Slade the credit he deserves.

Our form since the begining of Sept has been mid table at best. I think that's the direction we are heading in, and I still believe Slade will have done well to get a mid table finish given the resources he has to work with.

I thought we would be mid table. It was more in hope we would get a top 6.

What has surprised me are the other clubs in this league who are turning out to be not as good as I expected. It is going to be very close this season. We have a good run we will achieve a top 6. Equally so a bad/average run will see us end up mid table. I cannot see us being in a relegation battle though.

Don't forget only 6 points off top spot! And Brighton suppose to be best team in league so far, well not that far ahead of anyone are they? I always thought it was a 40 odd game season not one or two as being portrayed by some on here! There will be lots more ups & downs before its all over and I would not be surprised if we are between 6th and top spot at end of season.
Don't forget we've had quite a hard 1st ten games or so. :old:

I still have hope we can do it. My prediction is promotion via the play-offs. Brighton have started very well but I have the feeling of us in 2006 about them.

We are staying steady keeping our powder dry and I believe we could do it.

I expected mid table but always 'hope' for promotion!

Russell Slade has done better than I expected, but he is hampered by Tan's insistence that no money was to be spent during the Summer and until we get a strike force that is less inconsistent we will not reach the heights that were threatened early season (when everyone was settling into the new season)

That's not negative, its just realistic given the teams around us who are starting to perform (Boro, Derby, Burnley, etc.) ;)

I think Tan expects us to get promoted.
