" IT COULD BE ANOTHER ALL TIME LOW/ SHOULD CITY ? "
Cardiff City v Boro this Tuesday night, could be another all time record low crowd at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Boro have beamed it back live to their Stadium,so with that and the long distance, they won't bring many fans.
With City fans still feeling low about their club etc, Should City have done something on prices etc to have enticed them back this Tuesday night ?
Only 3 weeks ago City had a meeting about this with fans and said they were thinking of doing something? ?
Our capacity 33,000.
City have a database of 250,000 Fans and 70,000 plus emails.

Kids £1

Only option the club have is to bring the prices down if they want to see crowds increase.
Season tickets holders should be allowed to bring a guess for £5. other walk ups £10 and kids £1.

I don't understand how the club just can't be bothered to sort this out. It's a no-brainer. Put the prices down to a tenner for walk-ups and give current season ticket holders a credit so next year's will be cheaper.
All those extra fans will spend a fortune on food, drink and souvenirs. What have they got to lose??
Sun Oct 18, 2015 7:33 am
Can't see Boro bringing that many on a Tuesday night, so think it could be another new low.
I agree with ticket prices reductions to help with sales is key to getting fans to come.
Sun Oct 18, 2015 7:35 am
Even when they do season ticket holders bring a friend for a tender it makes very little difference to the size of the crowd!!!
I have enjoyed this season ...the players giving 100%, good team spirit!, better atmosphere etc
I also know ex season ticket holders who are just not interested anymore whether it's £30 or £5 to get in

The club can't do too much without it affecting season ticket sales for next season.
Any promotions for this year need to be combined with a reduction in s.t prices for next year, particularly for kids and I would prints cheap 'young adult' season ticket for the Canton Stand.
A win against one of the top clubs, hopefully Boro, would help.

Its stil unrealistic to compare attendances this season with any previous season? Yes charge a fiver admission price but according to many on here people won't come back until tan goes? So on that basis it wouldn't work.
Sun Oct 18, 2015 9:42 am
In the short term all of the above ideas any many others which have been suggested on this MB should be implemented to home games with different offers game after game until attendances increase.
Long term we need to be successful and attendances will look after themselves.

Allan I have always admired your straight talking and you have hit on a great point.
I fully believe Tan is a lazy and convenient excuse for those who can only be bothered going when we win or in the Premiership. There was a very small number who have been consistent from the beginning but the vast majority of those who now spout that excuse were there when we were in full rebrand mode and getting promoted.
Tan made a mistake and took a decision to admit that mistake and reverse his actions. Anyone who does-not accept that is simply a witch hunter looking for an easy target. It pitiful and pathetic and if they really 'love' their club they should worry more about getting their backsides back down to CCS and getting behind their team.

Agree with you both. The majority could write a book of 'excuses' but the simple fact is there is a large faction of 'fair weather' fans at our club, just the same as at most other clubs. It's frustrating, but it's a fact of life and only success will bring moost back to the CCS

Agree with you Sven although using the term most is a bit generous.
While out in Bosnia I met a number of stay away fans of ours. These are our real true football lovers. Their feeling for Cardiff have gone from passionate to absolutely nothing. I feel we have lost a majority of them for good.

my main beef with this type of article its basically comparing this season with previous ones when we had golden tickets promotion cup finals far more season ticket holders than 13k! all of which means this season was always going to be poor compared to others! what this season proves is our level of die hard supporters.

Prices are only part of it..
People need to feel part of something and definitely need success on the field to a high standard, otherwise the floating fan will not turn up.
Price, atmosphere, part of something, decent exciting football = fans getting out of their warm house and making an effort to get down there
Sun Oct 18, 2015 12:31 pm
Even with reduced prices there are some who will not come back after Tan changed us to red and then failed to turn debt to equity despite reverting back to blue.
Then the relegation last season's inept displays despite the return to blue have destroyed all the momentum the club had made off the field after the run of play offs, FA Cup Final , Play off Final, League Cup final then promotion which the club used to maximise season ticket sales.
That is why survival in our first season in the Premier League was absolutely crucial ( of course that would have mean we would most probably still be in red

) and now it will take more than gimmicks to get people back.

The bottom line is they would rather 1000s upon 1000s of empty seats rather than somebody Sat in them otherwise they would have done something along the lines of what's mentioned in this thread by many posters already and not just this Tuesday but before the season started as it didn't take a brain surgeon to work out we wouldn't even sell half the capacity in season tickets so I have no sympathy with the club and the constant " where's the fans " old chestnut.
There's also the fact many just don't go anymore as they was just one season prem plastics and you got many who just don't like.modern football and the way the club has gone, it's as simple as that really.
Sun Oct 18, 2015 3:05 pm
Look Cardiff city have bumped about at this level for most of its history and for most of the 80s and 90s much lower.it's time for a long period in the top flight .ive seen 40 years of dross which ok I could except if there was some success now and then .because unless I've misread the history books we haven't had a top 10 finish in the top flight since 1954 or won a major trophy since 1927 .

Not only ticket price its more putting these draws into wins ! Lets be honest preston should of been an away win with the players that slade has available fans are fed up
Sun Oct 18, 2015 3:54 pm
It's not the price, it's the boring football and definately boring atmosphere..........

This, but not fair on season ticket holders who have paid a minimum £14 per game

Rick Wright had great idea in the 90s, Cut and paste below
Wright, then 59, introduced the innovative idea of a sliding-scale ticket-price system – with fans paying more if the team were challenging near the top.
There was also the offer of a £1m bonus for players for promotion from Division Three.
Think we'll need a little more than 31m these days

A fair point well made
I accept 'majority' is a loose term and I accept that there are many who were so 'into' the club that its recent upheaval (caused solely by Tan's anti-supporter actions, inc. the now reverted colour change) ripped out their hearts to the point they simply fell out of love

If you take away blind loyalty as a reason, you have to ask yourselves WHY would many attend? Boring football, mediocre players, mediocre manager, no real football men at the club anymore to believe in and owner who believes we are all nothing more than customers. Supporters turned into Passionless fans by the club, who have used every excuse to brand its own supporter base as hooligans who can't be trusted to sit near away support and would prefer a sterile atmosphere at all costs.
I have ST and have been to 2 home games, I just don't have the enthusiasm to make the long journey. I suspect even those living within 5 miles of the ground feel the same.

why waste hundreds of pounds then? stupidity or blind enthusiasm? everyone as opinion of the way we are playing, but you on this board are one of a minority this season! as for hooliganism what would happen if just once supporters clashed if our fans are put next to away ones? simple answer restrictions on away travel as we deemed a risk (bristol city this season ) and policing at home games extra cost to club ect ect , and dont say wont happen as we all know it will at some point! We gone long way to get away from our past suppose some want to risk it coming back just to boost atmosphere?

When did Tan admit that the re-brand was a mistake, Tony? I must have missed that interview.
