Why can't we put in a 90 minute performance?

I am honestly thinking that I'll only bother turning up at half time in future.
The first half of virtually every game this season has been nothing short of dire and today was no exception. It's as if the team are being told to play within themselves in the first half and only attempt to win the game in the second half.
We have been truly shit recently for the first half against two exceedingly poor teams like Rotherham and Preston. We should be starting the match against these teams on the front foot and looking to impose ourselves on weaker opposition and dominate the match but instead we allow them as much possession as they like whilst putting them under no pressure whatsoever when they're on the ball.
And don't give me this "It's a tough place to come and they're battling for their lives" bollocks. These teams are in the bottom three for a reason - they're shit. Yet we can't seem to impose ourselves on these teams at all.
The second half today was marginally better but then anything would have been an improvement on the cack that we served up in the first half.
It was honestly impossible to tell today which team was jsut below the play-offs and which was in the relegation zone.
We've seen over the last few weeks exactly why there is no chance of promotion this season.

Dont tell me the teams above us have not played Preston or any other team in bottom 3? Because only difference with teams in 3,4,5,&6th place and us we've one draw more!! So as you high lighted we are crap against bottom sides it must mean we are good against other teams we played, how else can we be only 2 points off 3rd place?

To be honest I don't really take much notice of what the teams around us are doing - I only see the way we are playing so that's all I can comment on.
I know it's a cliche to say that it's a poor standard in our league this season but so far from what I've seen there is no stand out team or teams and we are one of a number of distinctly average sides.
What other teams do has no bearing on the way we seem to be so soporific for the first 45 min utes of virtually every game we play.

tend to agree with you, and we are really just lacking that goalscorer ! we are drawing to many games in general since slades come in, after all only around 6 defeats in about 25 games is good. my observations was based on before yesterday.
