I'm not a big Everton fan, but I think its fair to say that Howard Kendall brought back the glory days to Goodison Park in the mid 80,s,,,playing an attractive, eye catching style of football, with some great players at that time.
I could never understand why he left EFC & went to coach in Spain???
RIP Howard.

He left Everton to Bilbao because English clubs were banned in Europe and he enjoyed the 1985 Cup winners cup competition so much.
I was so chuffed as an 7 year old boy that Howard Kendall replied to my question to him by the players car park 'Is It Lineker and Sharp up front today Howard?' His response 'of course son' and he messed my hair up when he patted me on the head. As an Everton shareholder I've met him many times since but I will never forget that moment.
I will say this mind that he is the best manager Wales rejected to become their manager. At the time they choose Bobby Gould over him

It is very sad news - but I don't know where this 'passed' has come in over recent times - he has died.
