There has been no official statement from anyone at the club saying he was sacked because of any incident. Why not? Ali has lots of support from Bluebirds who value his great contribution over the years. Our announcers since he left have been average and worse. Also, we need to be bi-lingual just as everything about our National football side now is. If these rumours are true ,then why didn't the club come clean straight away? Ali has still only been given one reason - rebrand!

maybe they are doing it, so when he goes to his next job when they ask why was you sacked, rather than him saying, because of my actions etc, he can say the club wanted to move in a new direction

Because it's pathetic, he's a stadium announcer fgs not a player

I meet Ali once, he seemed a nice guy but I honestly couldn't give a f**k how he got sacked.

For once, the club have actually been very dignified on this particular issue

This board is marvellous! lol. The number of times people have slagged off the staff in the club shop on here over the last couple of seasons is legendary. Now, the stadium announcer is either a rampant racist or somebody who argued with club shop staff over shirt sizes and got sacked for it! Ali goes from hero to zero. The 'in the know people' or 'I have heard' people on this board are guessing at best - attention seeking for the most part!!

I won't be anywhere near the club shop any time soon, although I did attempt to call in on Tuesday. It was shut and there appeared to be no stock in there whatsoever. Very odd, I thought, especially as it is mid-season.

I have, however, spoken at length to Ali about his sacking and the alleged 'incident' in the club shop. Unsurprisingly, his version of events is somewhat different to the rumours that are apparently circulating. Also, the alleged club shop 'incident' is apparently not mentioned in the letter he has received from the club regarding the termination of his employment and nor was it given as the reason for his sacking during a meeting he and his representatives have held with club officials.

No doubt there are two sides to this story and the truth will eventually surface, but what I find genuinely sad is that people are prepared to anonymously trash a man's professional reputation based on little more than hearsay. I appreciate that's the way internet message boards (and this one in particular) tend to operate, but that doesn't make it right.

I understand the main reason offered was that club officials wanted to 'refresh' their matchday presentation and move in a different direction, while an uneasy working relationship between Ali and the media department was also apparently cited as an issue.

I have no plans to attend a Cardiff City game in the foreseeable future and Wales are not currently scheduled to play at the CCS any time soon either, so I'm unlikely to be anywhere near the club shop (unless you count Asda and M&S) for a good while.

I also said: "I did attempt to call in on Tuesday," which is also true. I imagined when Wales internationals are played at the stadium the club shop might be selling official FAW merchandise and I was after a new scarf, but it was empty and shut.

I didn't boycott matches while Hammam or Ridsdale were at the club because during their reigns as owner and chairman respectively I retained a strong affection for and connection to Cardiff City. Nothing either of them ever did made me feel even remotely similar to the way I felt about the club and a large percentage of its supporters following the re-brand and I know the same is true for plenty of other people. I'm glad common sense prevailed and it was eventually reversed, but it hasn't made a great deal of difference to me personally. The strong bond I had with the club and its fanbase has been broken and I know I'll never feel the same about it again.

Why do I continue to comment on the message boards when the mood takes me? Same reason as you do, I guess. Because I enjoy it.
