League One outfit Bury have added to their attacking arsenal by signing Scottish striker Lee Erwin from Leeds United on an initial 28-day loan.

Erwin has joined Bury on loan

The Lancashire-based club announced the news on their official website this afternoon and the target man, who only joined Leeds in the summer, will go straight into David Flitcroft’s squad for tomorrow’s local derby with Wigan Athletic.

The Scottish striker arrived in West Yorkshire from Scottish Premier League side Motherwell in the summer but the 21-year-old is still waiting to make his debut for the Whites.

Erwin has no doubt been left frustrated to have found himself out of the first-team picture, and will be desperate to grab his chance at the Shakers with both hands to show his parent club what they are missing out on.

During his short career the youngster has also played for Arbroath north of the border and scored an impressive eight times in 11 games for the club.

Bury have raced out of the blocks in League One this season and currently occupy a play-off place in the division.

The signing of a striker of Erwin’s standard will only enhance their chances of staying higher up the table.
