Swindon Town have announced the emergency loan signing of Bristol City defender Adam El-Abd until January, on their official website.
The 31-year-old has failed to settle in at Bristol City and has made just 14 appearances since joining the club from Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2014.
It was at Brighton where he made his name, appearing 300 times between 2003 and 2014. During his time with the club he guided them to promotion from League One in 2010-11 and a playoff finish in the Championship in 2012-13.
Last season he made 24 appearances on-loan at Bury where he helped them gain promotion from League Two.
El-Abd boosts Swindon’s defensive options with Brazilian Raphael Rossi Branco being the only fit centre-back at the club.
He brings some international experience with him too after playing seven times for the Egyptian national team in the 2012-13 season.
He is Swindon’s seven loan signing- joining goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux, defenders Kevin Stewart and Jordan Turnbull as well as midfielders Jordan Williams and Louis Thompson and striker Wes Thomas.
