A midweek away at Blackburn, not too bad a following at QPR and Brighton despite high ticket prices. Rotherham not too bad. Forest? Been there plenty of times.

Still, our away support has dropped big time.

As has our home support. 13k a week isn't gonna get big away numbers. Not to mention our mid table finish last season has taken the gloss off of supporting City for some, picking and choosing what aways to do. Even though there's lesser numbers doesn't mean our fans don't make the same amount of noise :ayatollah:

We are always making some kind of excuses, other clubs have not dropped as bad as we have.

This season on the pitch,in my opinion it's been good so far,so the team/ club deserves better support :thumbright: :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :bluebird:

Leeds is amazing, they've been awful on the pitch as well and have had no success for many years, even night games 250/300miles away they sell out.

Derby's is very good.

And Boro's is fantastic.

I put out this week lower division clubs taking away over 200 fans on Wed and Tues nights 250 miles away, they only get 3,000 and 6,000 home crowds, we took to Boro last season 89 fans.
Years ago when we use to get 1,500 to 4,000 at home, we would take 150 to 200 fans to Rochdale and Halifax on Friday nights and to places like Exeter and Plymouth 1,500-2,500 :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Because that's the logic to it. It's been discussed to the high hilt. How can we have a massive away support if our home support is below par? If a fan can't be bothered to go the stadium on his doorstep why would they travel to England? It HAS been good and they do deserve support, blame fairweather fans and appreciate the fans that do the journeys. :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

Oh, I can tell you now, I really appreciate those that still travel, same old loyal faces :thumbright: :ayatollah:

But your missing the point, during the 70's,80's and 90's City were always known through out the Country for having great away support compared to their home support. :bluebird: :bluescarf: :bluebird: :thumbright:

But football has changed, you were more inclined to support the team. The city of Cardiff itself doesn't support Cardiff, a majority of our support is from the Valleys area

Fair play to those that still go but ticket prices were cheaper back then. There's nothing attractive on spending £60 excess to travel to say Leeds or Boro on a Tuesday night nowadays. Lower wages etc, usually those who will go to the long distance aways will have to sacrifice pay for that day to book time off work. Doesn't matter if we had good support back then, we have a just below average support for us right now. If we are competitive and the feeling around the club changes, they may come back. We are not alone.

It's a blip, comes in cycles and a different era now for city but you right, we would get 4,000 home then take over 2,000 to Plymouth or Exeter. Remembering watching us at Chesterfield it hammered down all match open end terrace but we had massive support, Mansfield the list goes on. :thumbright:

At least the big drop in our home support now means we're taking proportionately more away ;-)

I'll get my coat...

That's shocking to be fair. We have over estimated ourselves over the years. Hasn't helped we have been run like a bad case of the shits for the last 15 years.
