Now it's time to move forward together - Nathan Blake

5 OCT 2015

BY NATHAN BLAKE

Cardiff City legend Nathan Blake says now is the perfect time for Vincent Tan to lead a united Bluebirds forward after years of turbulence

Mehmet Dalman and Vincent Tan are key players at Cardiff City
Now is the time for Vincent Tan to show strong Bluebirds leadership and play a major role in making sure Cardiff City stay on course for a return to the Premier League.

Cardiff City look a team who, with the right care and attention, can make the progress needed to achieve success either this season or next.

They could be on the verge of something big. If the club, including fans, players, management and, crucially, Tan himself, do the right things then we can look to the future with confidence.

Tan must lead the way by becoming more involved. I know he talks to chief executive Ken Choo, chairman Mehmet Dalman and manager Russell Slade all the time, but it’s time for him to come over from Malaysia and show the fans how keen he is.

I’m not talking about throwing more money at the club. He has been supportive financially and hopefully he will allow Slade to strengthen the squad when the transfer window opens.

Right now it would simply be great to see him at more Bluebirds matches.

This is a time when there are signs that everything seems to be coming together for the club. The manager is doing a good job, the squad is full of quality and I am hopeful success can be achieved.

Slade has shown he knows what he is doing, but if Cardiff are to keep making progress towards promotion then everybody must do their bit on and off the pitch.

Tan can lead and inspire the people in and around the club to do the right things

We all know Bluebirds fans are not turning out in force at home matches and many feel disconnected from their club.

Relationship :thumbright:

City must rebuild a relationship with fans. The whole thing is waiting for an explosion of positive feeling, but Tan and the club must take the lead.

It’s important to learn from what has happened over the last two or three years, apply the lessons and move on. That can take time, but together we can make this happen.

It’s crucial for our football club that we all pull in the same direction and make sure the momentum already achieved gathers pace.

There have been too many occasions when Cardiff City have taken backward steps and now the time is right to change that.

If we link together for the sake of the Bluebirds it will be huge.

Slade’s team go into the international break just outside the play-off positions, heartened by the point earned at Brighton.

Makes me cringe every time I read one of his articles.

Nice to hear a hint of positivity for a change, but this is a 'nothing' article for me. Saddens me that people earned money for writing and publishing it.

Really don't see the need for Tan to be at games. Dalman & Choo are doiing well enough at running the business side of things and Slade is putting his mark of the footballing side of things with a lot more positivity around the club now than there has been in the last few years.

When Tan was more hands on every week were in the headlines for the wrong reasons, much prefer his hands off approach myself. :ayatollah:
