MY OPINION " RUSSELL SLADE FINALLY RECOGNITION? "

I for one have not been a Slade fan since day one,but I have when we played well, won games or battled, praised each game as I have believed deserved the praise.

I've never had anything personal against Slade, for me he seems honest and an open manager and has done quite well in the lower leagues.

But from day one,yes I've said he's Tans man and a yes man to Tan ,as for me he was virtually sacked by Orient, then offered the biggest job of his long career as long as he sold, sold, sold or got rid of as many players as he was told, despite if they were good or not, that for me is not a good manager and I can't change my opinion on that.
Plus I have not been impressed with the majority of his signings, nor can he really as out of 12, only 1 or 2 ever really play in our first team.

I have not come on here to slag him down, quite the opposite :thumbright:

Tomorrow will be virtually a year sine Slade was appointed our manager and he inherited a massive squad, beyond in fact.
He has done Tans dirty work, but and I mean but he has quietly gone about putting together mostly the players that were left and got them playing for him and giving their all :thumbright:

We've never been a relegation team under Slade so far :thumbright: :thumbright:
I've started to enjoy my football this season :thumbright:
Slade to be fair acknowledges the fans at away games :thumbright:
Our team is giving their all under Slade :thumbright:

So for me,tomorrow will be Slades 10th game this season and at the moment we lye in 6th spot :thumbright:
If we win or draw at Brighton tomorrow, which is for me a chance to show how far we have come, even fans who have never respected Slade should at least acknowledge that we are at least improving under Slade and whether we
Like or don't like his football, we will be going in to the International break on a high and hopefully in a play -off place :thumbright:

Fans will say, well what if we lose? I will answer that after tomorrow's game, but hopefully I will be celebrating with the 1,200 travelling City fans :ayatollah:

How can you say your opinion of Slade is not personal against him when you have said that he is a yes man to Tan and if I am correct you said he was not the man for this club as he did not have experience at Championship level and was out of his depth. That is a personal opinion against him as a manager.
I think he has proved that he can manage at this level and the way he has brought the team together proves that,we are a solid team and although all of his signings have not been as successful as was hoped that is the same for every manager.
You judge a manager on results and to date I think he has done a great rebuilding job in a short amount of time and we have a realistic chance of challenging for a play off spot.

I am saying I don't dislike the man personally, but I have given you my opinion why it has taken me so long to start giving him recognition and now I am starting to :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Fans should respect each other's opinions :thumbright:

That's fair enough Annis I'm glad Slade is our manager he comes across as a gentleman and a honest hardworking man and deserves to be managing at this level because what he did at Orient with freebies is remarkable while playing a good brand of football and he is starting to do it here as well the team is working hard and playing for him and I hope he delivers us promotion because it would be a fairy tale a manager spent most of his career in the lower leagues and gets us in the Prem in Blue. :thumbright: :sladein: :ayatollah: :bluebird:

At the beginning of the season I said I would give Slade 10 to 12 games before I gave my personal opinion of him as our manager. I must say that he started to win me over a few weeks ago but I will still wait for 10 to 12 games. Tomorrows game is our 10th but it is against the unbeaten league leaders Brighton so I am not expecting a result to be honest but I will expect a good performance by us. I think I will wait until the 12th game before I decide unless of course we put in a great performance and we win then I think Slade would have won me over. Credit where it is due and Slade has done very well so far this season and I hope it continues. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

the most important thing you said is that the enjoyment is back in supporting City, Slade will win the fans over if they enjoy supporting his team :bluebird: :bluebird: Good post Annis!

To me he was always going to have a tough time coming here. After malky and then ole (although not a big name manager still big name). And to be fair we were pretty shocking last season. And although i could understand the reason for appointing him I was willing to back him from the off, but even then I had a few doubts when football was so poor. But to be fair he has turned it around and we can get around play offs. I have always backed him even when he was struggling and will back him until sacked or leaves as hes Cardiff manager and deserved a crack at it. Lets support him . All pulling in the same direction is surely better

Last season we were terrible and I thought he should be sacked but since he's had help from Trollope and more back room staff have come in ,the team has got better and the football is great, best for years I can remember since the Dave Jones days

He hasn't got rid of any player that didn't need to go. He has done a really good job of trimming the budget. I was underwhelmed by his appointment, but he really has won me over. What sort of worries me is what happens if we get back to the Premier League. Would he be able to cope with that?

I have a good feeling about tomorrow- BHA 0 Bluebirds 2 :sladein: :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

I always back the manager no matter who appointed them. There are times when that faith runs out Dave Jones being a classic example, but for the most part I show absolute blind faith because I am desperate for Cardiff City to succeed.

Good post and I agree with most of that, what always makes me chuckle is fans giving him 12 games even when we are almost there he still has 12 games yet if he had lost 3 on the bounce after say 6 games he would gave been judged on 6. He's doing a great job, I didn't think he had it in him and I was one who thought he did a good job steading the ship and maybe should have been moved on in the summer. Us fans are not always correct, make some noise tomorrow :bluescarf: :bluebird: :ayatollah:

slade Was'nt given a chance, Ole out of his depth, stopped going down the city because of the dire football under Malky. Could' nt stand Dave Jqnes but in hindsight his teams played exciting football, on shoestring.

Better than expected this season, don't see it lasting though. Don't like his style of management at all.

Don't care who's man he is as long as the performances on the pitch reach a satisfactory standard. Last season, although we improved near the end, was on the whole disappointing and unacceptable. Have to say this season, bar Rotherham, there has been a vast improvement from the players and we've looked like a team, not a bunch of individuals. whether this is down to Slade, Trollope or combined coaching team I don't know, but credit must go to whoever it is down to. :ayatollah:
