' VINCENT TAN '

A lot has been said about the lack of spending at City over the summer and how fans wanted, and still want, to see us spend money on a new striker and midfielder.

Vincent Tan has spent money and lots of it previously trying to make the club competitive and probably feels it has been a costly exercise in more ways than the obvious.

With the squad of players still available at the club, I think it has been a sensible approach so far and as fans of other clubs recognise and the media too, Cardiff City still have a lot of quality in the squad for this division.

If City are in the Top 6 around December and January then I believe Vincent Tan will give Russell Slade financial backing to strengthen our claim for promotion.

It is hard to disagree with the philosophy that there is good enough players to compete and no need to splash the money around like previous seasons.

I have to agree there is already quality in the squad I believe signing to much players does upset the applecart.

Totally agree I think ,slade and Trollope are doing well and the players are starting to work together

I add my agreement as we should be looking at getting the best out of what we have rather than spending £Millions on quick fixes which just don't seem to ever work.

That said I also have a sneaky feeling that if we needed a player to boost our chances and we are up there in the top 6 come January then old VT might back Slade

Totally agree, fabio, dicka, Mason, like new signings plus Sammy been fantastic and the emergence of Ralls. Different team without busting the bank. Tan will back Slade if we are in the hunt come January

But on the other hand he could turn around and say "well you got us this far with the current squad, so you can reach the end without needing to strengthen".
Just a though on what may happen.

Some people look for reasons to have a go.
If he backed slade it would be about the debt.

I think this season he has got it spot on, give slade more than I would have to spend.

I can't stand Tan for what he did to our club. However, since January of this year he has got things right. He addressed the shirt issue and he has reduced costs whilst the team has become more competitive. Hopefully in January if we are still in top 6 he can release the purse strings a bit and allow Slade some money to bring in 1 or 2 players that can enhance the squad.

Fully agree with your viewpoint apart from its time to forget any rebrand vendettas.

That was a bad idea but it didn't come from a bad person and having put £130m+ into our club (before someone says "its a loan" then please inform me just who is going to ever pay that amount back?) so its time to give the fella a break.
