Newcastle are one of five Premier League clubs tracking Newport County teenager Aaron Collins, according to the Newcastle Chronicle.

The 18-year-old forward has reportedly also been watched by Manchester United and Burnley among others, while Newcastle sent scouts to watch him in Newport’s 1-0 win against Carlisle United last weekend.

Newport boss Terry Butcher rates Collins highly, and says his opportunity to progress will come.

“Aaron is a key player," said Butcher.

“He’s got two goals now and he’s only played two full matches so he’s made a very good start to his career.

“The offer came in from Burnley but it didn’t match our valuation."
