'If Real Madrid star Gareth Bale is fit, I'll play him' - Wales boss Chris Coleman rules out resting his star man

Bale hasn't played for the Spanish giants for over two weeks due to a calf strain, but is expected to feature in the Madrid derby on Sunday

Gareth Bale is expected to be fit enough to lead Wales' bid for glory next week – even if he doesn't make his Real Madrid comeback against Atletico this weekend.

And Wales boss Chris Coleman has ruled out resting the £85m man for the trip to Bosnia as he seeks on getting burying the qualifying hoodoo at the first chance.

Bernabeu superstar Bale was named in Coleman's 25-man squad for the decisive Euro 2016 qualifiers with Bosnia and Andorra where one point will rubber-stamp Wales' place in next summer's finals in France.

Coleman has confirmed the feedback from the Spanish capital over Bale's fitness has been positive despite the 26-year-old having not featured for more than a fortnight after suffering a calf strain on Champions League duty against Shalke.

Bale – who Coleman described as “a machine” - is back in training and could play a part in Sunday's Madrid derby before jetting into Cardiff to meet with the rest of the national squad.

But Coleman has stressed that if Real pass him fit to travel he will have no hesitation in starting him in Bosnia, regardless of whether he completes 90 minutes for his superpower club.

Coleman, who welcomed the fit-again Joe Allen, Joe Ledley, Emyr Huws and James Chester back into the fold after injuries in the last camp, said: “Gareth has been instrumental in this campaign, not just with his goals but his all round performances and the mentality he brings to the group. He's incredibly important and we don't want to be going into games as important as these two without someone like him.

“Hopefully gets a game in before he comes to us and the news coming out of Madrid is positive.

“He will have been building back up in training and ticking the boxes before he is deemed fit to start or come on as substitute for them, but all the feedback I've had from my medical team has been good.

“He's expected to be available for Real before he comes on board for us. We will have to see whether he is able to start or be on the bench or if Rafa (Benitez) has other plans, I don't know.

“But if he's fit to meet up with us I'll be looking to play him. It's two games to get one point and you would fancy us against Andorra but I'm only thinking about getting a result against Bosnia for now. To do that I want my strongest possible team on the pitch and Gareth is at the centre of that. I will be looking to start him but hopefully that's on the back of us getting some minutes.”

Coleman said he will watch the Madrid derby as he waits for Bale and other players to come through unscathed, admitting the La Liga clash will be “frantic” but showed little concern of “machine” Bale's ability to deal with the physicality and that it could actually benefit Wales.

Coleman will assess Joe Allen as to whether the Liverpool midfielder will be able to complete both games having had limited game time at Anfield after a hamstring strain.

Shouldn't play him against Bosnia, save him for Andorra psychologically better for us. What if we lose and bale gets injured against Bosnia? :o

Nah if the points are there we need to field our strongest team and kill it off. We can beat Andorra without bale no problem

Like we did over there? Besides may not need points if Israel drop points in their game!

We will beat Andorra comfortable with or without Bale
If we were to be beaten by them at home we don't deserve to go to France
